Paralelinių pasaulių egzistavimas šalia mūsų – kol kas tik mokslininkų prielaida. O mūsų protėviai, iš visko sprendžiant, žinojo apie juos prieš daugelį amžių.
Žinomas XV amžiaus religinis veikėjas, bažnyčios reformatorius Martinas Liuteris rašė apie duotą jam iš aukščiau apreiškimą, kuriame buvo sakoma: “Užpultis užgriuvo pasaulį, baisūs demoniški sutvėrimai puola žmones, verčia juos sangulauti ir grobia žmonių sėklą, kad pratęstų savo demonišką giminę”. Dažnai moterys po kontakto su “demonais” pastodavo.
Viduramžių pasakojimai apie susitikimus su “demonais” kartais iki smulkiausių detalių sutampa su šiuolaikiniais liudijimais ir pasakojimais apie žmones, kuriuos grobia ateiviai. Šiandien daugybę pagrobimų aukų taip pat tvirtina, akd jie turėjo seksualinių kontaktų su “paslaptingomis būtybėmis”.
1606 metų sausyje Bazelyje įvyko Fransuazos Bos teismas. Ją kaltino ryšiu su demonu, kuris užbūrė jos vyrą. O Fransuaza tvirtino, kad demonas atsirado jos miegamajame tiesiog iš niekur ir paralyžavo sutuoktinį, kuris po to “visą naktį miegojo kaip užmuštas”. Teisiamosios žodžiais, ji neprisiminė, kas būtent nutiko tarp jos ir demono.
Šiuolaikinės “demonų aukos” irgi kalba apie pagrobimo metu šalimais atsidūrusių žmonių paralyžių. Po paslaptingų piktadarių išnykimo, užmigusius paskui labai ilgai sunku pažadinti. O patys nukentėjusieji dažniausiai neprisimena, kas nutiko ir prisimena smulkmenas tik užhipnotizuoti.
Škotijoje, viename iš istorinių dokumentų išliko kažkokios namų šeimininkės pasakojimas apie “paslaptingą elfą”, kuris stebuklingu būdu atsirado jos sandėliuke, kur ji tuo metu buvo su vyru. Pamačiusi elfą, išsigandusi šeimininkė ėmė šaukti savo vyrą, bet staiga pastebėjo, kad jis guli ant maišų su miltais. Kol elfas nepaliko namų, moteris negalėjo pažadinti savo vyro…
Vokietijoje XV amžiaus pabaigoje nutiko nepaprastas įvykis. Dingo burmistro giminaitė Elzė Farthen. Mergina dingo anktį iš savo miegamojo. Niekas nematė ir negirdėjo nieko neįprasto, tik viena tarnaitė pastebėjo vidury nakties ryškią šviesą po savo šeimininkės durimis. Bet ji nesuteikė tam didelės reikšmės. Ryte paaiškėjo, kad miegamojo durys užrakintos iš vidaus, o kai jas išlaužė, patalpa apsirodė esanti tuščia. Kilo sumaištis. Tarnai ir giminaičiai išnaršė visas apylinkes, tačiau merginos niekur nebuvo. Elzės nebuvo dvi dienas, o trečią dieną netikėtai ir niekieno nepastebėta ji vėl atsirado namuose, savo miegamajame. Kai merginai paaiškino, kad jos nebuvo namuose dvi dienas, ji nepatikėjo. Merginos įsitikinimu, ji atsigulė miegoti ir ramiai išmiegojo vieną naktį. Tiesa, apskui prisiminė, kad jai sapnavosi ryški šviesa, kažkokie neaiškūs veidai, bet ne daugiau…
airių tautosakoje išliko padavimas, pasak kurio, kartą nedideliame kaimelyje “nelaimingoji Irgena atsidavė demonui”. Nors vargšė mergina ir tvirtino, kad negalėjo priešintis, kadangi buvo užburta ir dėl to nepašaukė pagalbos, ją vis dėlto pasmerkė myriop ir nuskandino upėje.
Europos tautosakoje išliko daug liudijimų apie paslaptingų būtybių grobiamus vaikus. Pavyzdžiui, apsakojama apie tai, kaip jauna moteris, atsibudusi naktį, su siaubu pamatė, kad prie jos lovos stovi nedidelis žmogeliukas su didžiule galva ir “velniškomis” akimis. Jis bandė pasiimti jos mažylį, kuris miegojo šalia jos. Moteris suriko ir nykštukas iškart “išgaravo”.
Kitas įdomus nutikimas įvyko Žemutinėje Saksonijoje. Legendos byloja apie vieną moterį, kurią naktį irgi aplankė paslaptingos būtybės. Ponia Aichen dar nespėjo atsigulti į lovą, kai pamatė nepaprastai ryškią šviesą, plykstelėjusią už lango. Po kelių akimirkų jai pasirodė, kad kambaryje kažkas yra. Ponia pašoko iš lovos, uždegė žvakę. Prie savo sūnaus lopšio moteris pamatė pilką neūžaugą su didele galva. Ji suriko ir puolė neūžaugą, tačiau tasai paprasčiausiai ištirpo ore.
Nors dauguma viduramžių legendų apie žmonių susitikimus su demonais pasakoja apie moteris, vyriškos giminės paslaptingi sutvėrimai irgi neignoruoja. Išliko vieno šventiko liudijimas. Jis tvirtino, kad patyrė baisų gundymą iš demono pusės, tai įvyko vidurnaktį. Nelabasis atsirado tiesiog vidury kambario ugniniame kamuolyje ir mėgino sugundyti šventiką, siūlydamas jam nepaprasto grožio raganas. Tačiau šventikas atsilaikė ir demonas, įėjęs į ugninį kamuolį, dingo kartu su juo.
Švedų valstietis Olafas Utlainas buvo pagrobtas vidury baltos dienos “dviejų demonų”. Puikią pavasario dieną jis ganė avis netoli kaimo. Nusprendęs atsipūsti, vaikinas prigulė ant žemės ir dingo. Atvėręs akis, olafas pamatė šalia savęs demoną “su didele galva ir pilku apsiaustu”. Demonas paėmė piemeniui už rankos, pakėlė jį aukštai virš žemės ir “parodė jam žvaigždes ir sutvėrimus dangiškus, o taip pat daugybę dvasių, besiblaškančių tarp dangaus ir žemės”. Olafas atsipeikėjo toje pačioje vietoje, manydamas, kad praėjo daug laiko, tačiau pasirodė, kad “avys ganosi toje pačioje vietoje ir vis dar buvo diena”.
Iki šiol galim tik spėlioti, kodėl žmones lanko keistos būtybės iš kito pasaulio. Akivaizdu tik viena – mūsų protėviai, kaip ir šiuolaikiniai žmonės, susidurdavo su nežinomu ir paslaptingu pasauliu, kurio prigimtis mums iki šiol lieka nesuvokiama.
