Pastaraisiais aprašytais atvejais mirusieji aiškiai prašė pagelbėti jiems arba patys padėjo gyviesiems. Bet pasitaiko atvejų, kai anapusinės jėgos veikia, atrodo, be jokios logikos. Žmonėms neaiškios jų veikimo priežastys, ir todėl jos kelia gyviesiems ne tik nuostabą, bet ir baimę. Būtent toks pasakojimas yra iš buvusio kapitono anglo Ruperto Gouldo „Keistenybės“, išleistos dar 1928 m.
Barbadoso saloje, Kristaus bažnyčios šventoriuje, prieš kurį tyvuliuoja Oistino įlanka, stūkso neaukšta, bet masyvi kripta. Ji nesiskiria nuo kitų kriptų niekuo, nebent tik tuo, kad jos įėjimo neužtveria joks akmuo ar kitas barjeras. Smalsus praeivis, dirstelėjęs vidun, pamatytų tik pilkas sienas ir atsitiktinių šiukšlių. Jau visą šimtmetį kripta yra apleista. Pasirodo, jog tai nėra mirusiųjų ramybės vieta. Ne kartą ir ne du, bet iš viso net penkis kartus su pertraukomis, trukusiomis kelis mėnesius ar net kelerius metus, joje sudėti karstai buvo rasti išvartyti ir net sustatyti stačiai. Bandyta apsaugoti šią vietą įvairiais būdais: išstuksentos sienos, lubos ir grindys, mėginta surasti slaptus įėjimus, ant grindų pabarstant smėlio, kad įsispaustų įsibrovėlių pėdos. Įėjimas buvo užverstas akmeniu, kurį ga-lėtų pajudinti nebent keturi vyrai. Be to, akmuo buvo užantspauduotas kelių žmonių antspaudais. O rezultatas visada būdavo tas pats. Iš naujo atidarius kriptą, neaptikdavo jokių įsibrovimo pėdsakų, bet karstai būdavo išmėtyti taip, kaip ir anksčiau.
Tad nenuostabu, kad po penkto tokio nemalonaus įvykio visi sutarė paimti savo numirėlius iš kriptos ir perkelti į ramesnį būstą.
Kas vis dėlto ten vyko?
Pirmiausia apie pačią kriptą. Ji pastatyta XVIII amžiaus pradžioje. Antkapio akmenyje iškaltas įrašas, kad kriptą pastatė Džeimso Elioto giliai liūdinti našlė. O jį patį „mirtis iš mūsų atėmė Anno Domini 1724, gegužės 14 dieną“. Tačiau nors ir keista, joks Eliotas kriptoje nebuvo palaidotas. O pirmiausia 1807 m. liepos 31 d., į kriptą buvo atgabentas Tomazinos Godar kūnas. 1808 m. kripta tapo Čeizų šeimos nuosavybe, ir čia tarp 1808 ir 1812 metų buvo paguldyti trys jos nariai: Merė Ana Marija Čeiz – Tomo Čeizo mažametė dukra, Dorkosa Čeiz – antroji Čeizo dukra, suaugusi, ir vėliau pats Tomas Čeizas. Štai tada žmonės ir pamatė, kad abiejų merginų karstai buvo išversti iš savo vietų. Mažosios Merės Čeiz karstas buvo perstumtas iš šiaurės rytų kampo į priešingą ir pastatytas kone stačiai, galva žemyn.
Dar vienas vaikas, Samuelis Brusteris Eimsas, buvo palaidotas kriptoje 1816 metų rugsėjo 25 d. Ir tada vėl paaiškėjo, kad visi karstai, išskyrus ponios Godar, vėl buvo perstumdyti. Tų pačių metų lapkričio 17 d. kripta vėl buvo atidaryta ir į ją įneštas suaugusio, Samuelio Brusterio, karstas. Nešikai ir šį kartą čia rado visišką chaosą. 1819 m. liepos 17-ąją įvyko dar vienos laidotuvės – kriptoje buvo paguldyta Tomazina Klark. Vaizdas vėl buvo sukrečiantis: sunkius švininius karstus nežinoma jėga išmėtė ir išvartė.
Barbadoso judančių karstų paslaptį tarp kitų bandė įspėti ir Arturas Konan Doilis – Šerioko Holmso kūrėjas. Jis nutarė, kad tai antgamtinių jėgų darbas. Tarp jų jis įvardijo ir dviejų numirėlių, kurie patys sau atėmė gyvybę, pomirtinį blaškymąsi. Mat Dorkosa Čeiz numarino save badu, neiškentusi savo tėvo Tomo Čeizo šiurkštumo ir žiaurumo, o Tomas Čeizas irgi vėliau nusižudė. Tad kriptoje gulėjo du savižudžiai. O pasakojimų apie neramias savižudžių vėles yra labai daug. Antai knygos autorius Rupertas Gouldas papasakojo panašią istoriją ir apie įvykius Baltijos jūros Ezelio saloje, priklausančioje Danijai. Čia Arensburgo miestelio kapinėse prie kelio stovėjo trys koplyčios. 1844 m. birželio 22 d. valstietė atvažiavo vežimu aplankyti savo motinos kapo šalia Bukshuvdenų koplyčios. Ji pastebėjo, kad arklys kažko labai išsigandęs. Po poros dienų valstietę papasakojo apie neį-prastą įvykį baronui Guldenštubei.
Kitą sekmadienį keli žmonės, pririšę arklius priešais Bukshuvdenų koplyčią, vėliau rado juos iš baimės tirtančius ir prakaituojančius. Pradėta įtarti koplyčią. Kai kurie žmonės nugirdo, neva iš koplyčios sklinda garsai, panašūs į aimanas.
Liepos mėnesį vėl nutiko tas pats. Priešais koplyčią stovėjo vienuolika arklių, ir grįžę šeimininkai arklius rado ko neišprotėjusius. Jie blaškėsi norėdami pabėgti. Netrukus mirė vienas Bukshuvdenų šeimos narys. Pamaldų metu kai kurie žmonės girdėjo girgždesius rūsyje. Po pamaldų drąsesnieji nusileido į rūsį ir rado visus karstus išstumdytus ir suverstus į netvarkingą krūvą. Neįmanoma buvo paaiškinti, kas tai padarė, nes rūsio spyna buvo neliesta.
Žmonės sutvarkė karstus ir užrakino rūsį. Miestelyje pasklido gandai apie įvykį, ir oficialūs asmenys nutarė juos patikrinti – aplankė rūsį ir aptiko vėl suverstus karstus. Tada pradėtas valdiškas tyrimas. Sudarytas komitetas uždarė rūsį, paskui po kelių dienų atidarė. Visi karstai, išskyrus tris, buvo išmėtyti. Komitetas vėl uždarė ir užantspaudavo rūsį, pabarstė pelenų ant laiptelių ir koplyčioje. Prie koplyčios trims paroms pastatyta sargyba, ir po trijų parų komitetas vėl apsilankė koplyčioje. Abejos durys buvo nepaliestos, antspaudai sveiki. Pelenai tebegulėjo storu, vienodu sluoksniu. Nei koplyčioje, nei ant laiptų, vedančių į rūsį, neaptiko jokio pėdsako. Ir vis dėlto rūsyje visi karstai, išskyrus, kaip ir pirma, tris, buvo nustumti iš savo vietų, dauguma jų, nors ir labai sunkūs, buvo pastatyti galvūgaliais žemyn. Negana to, vieno karsto dangtis, buvo šiek tiek atplėštas, o pro plyšį buvo išlindusi sudžiūvusi numirėlio ranka ( to Bukshuvdeno, kuris buvo nusižudęs).
Komitetas, dėl viso pikto vėl patikrinęs, ar karstai neapiplėšti, liepė kūnus išnešti ir palaidoti kitur.
Šie aprašyti dalykai dėjosi, galima sakyti, be liudininkų, nakties priedangoje, ir nukentėjo tik numirėliai. Tačiau pasitaiko atvejų, kai anapusinės jėgos krečia piktus pokštus ir gyviesiems žmonėms, neretai ne tik išgąsdindami juos, bet ir padarydami žalos. Pavyzdžiui, toks atsitikimas aprašytas J.Tumo- Vaižganto knygelėje „Kun. Petras Legeckas ir jo gyvenimo nuotykiai“ (1930m.). Šios knygelės autorius viską atpasakoja taip, kaip buvo girdėjęs iš paties Legecko.
„Gonių kaime netoli Vainuto, pas ūkininką Jakštą ėmė vaidentis. Kai tik imdavo temti, kažkas pradėdavo mėtyti daiktus: kurpes, bulves, net kirvius, belsti į vidines kambario sienas. Pagalbos atėjo ieškoti pas mane, kun. Petrą Legecką. Bijodamas apsijuokti, nuvažiavau atsiklausti dekano Butkevičiaus, gyvenusio Žvingiuose… Dekanas patarė pagrasinti kalėjimu tiems, kurie tuos pokštus daro. Aš taip ir pasielgiau, bet bildesiai nesiliovė. Jakštai ir vėl verkdami ėmė maldauti, nes naktimis neturi poilsio. Tad pats atlikęs išpažintį, kad ir man iš vaiduoklio nekliūtų per galvą, liepęs ir Jakštams taip padaryti (vyrui, žmonai, dviem sūnums, dukrai ir tetulei ), ryžausi važiuoti namų šventinti. Pasiėmiau zakristijoną, jam įsakiau, kad visus, atvažiavusius į Gonius, išsivadintų iš trobos, kad jie apeitų visus namų užkaborius, o takus išbarstyti smėliu. Zakristijonui tai padarius ir sugrįžus, aš atsisėdau prie lango. Man padavė stiklą arbatos. Tai buvo gruodžio mėnuo. Jau buvo naktis, bet šviesi, nes švietė pilnatis. Ėmiau šeimyną drąsinti:
- Štai, – sakau, – jau keletą minučių, kai esame, ir nieko nesigirdi. Patys prasimanote…
Tai man tarus, ledo gabalas kad duos į langą. Pataikė į rėmą ir stiklo neišmušė. Pabūgau: žmogus mesdamas būtų langus išdaužęs. Tuoj ėmė visokie daiktai blaškytis po pirkią: kurpės, bulvės, malkos, ant pečiaus sukrautos, o nematyti, kas ir iš kur mėto. Pirkioje degė lempa ir žvakė. Aš pasiėmiau žvakę, sakau Jakštui:
- Eisiu į seklyčią, aš turiu apžiūrėti visus namus, o pirkioje palieku zakristijoną ir visą šeimą. Ligi tik išėjau į seklyčią, išgirdau pirkioje didžiausią triukšmą. Sugrįžau išbarti zakristijono, manydamas, kad ten tyčia taip pokštaujama.
- Oi, kunige, – sako jis, – važiuokime namo! Kai tik išėjai, lempa užgeso, o mane su krėslu aukštyn pakėlė ir viskas dar labiau ėmė mėtytis.
Aš, ilgai nematydamas, kas mėto, išėjau su žvake į priemenę. Čia iš kamino, kur rūkydavo mėsą, man po kojų kažkas išmetė didoką kartį, paskui – kirvį, metė iš vienos kertės į kitą dvitraukį pjūklą…
Tada aš suklupdžiau visus, kad galėčiau matyti, o pats, prieš švęsdamas trobą, atsiklaupiau prie lovos galo. Tada į mano pašonę krito pagalys. Jei būtų pataikęs, būtų užmušęs. Visiems meldžiantis, aš pašventinau visą namą. Jau buvo 11 valanda. Nakvoti pasilikau pirkioje, visą šeimyną išleidęs į seklyčią, nes rytmečiais taip pat belsdavosi. Poilsis buvo menkas, nors nieko neatsitiko. Ir net parvažiavęs porą naktų nemiegojau, bet nuo to karto pas Jakštus daiktų mėtymas liovėsi, niekas nebebeldė“.
Pastaroji istorija, žinoma, nėra tokia romantiška ir šiurpinanti kaip pasakojimas apie Barbadoso salos paslaptį. Vienok ir ji, nepaisant netgi tam tikro komiškumo, vis dėlto kelia daug klausimų apie gyvųjų ir mirusiųjų santykius, kartais atrodanti nelogišką ir nesuprantamą anapusinių jėgų elgesį. Tai liudija ir daug kitų poltergeisto faktų. Ko jos nori iš žmogaus, ko reikalauja, geidžia, kaip ir jau minėtais atvejais, ne visuomet įmanoma suvokti. Štai, pavyzdžiui, plačiai pasaulyje žinoma Prancūzijos gyventojų Seržo ir Gemos R. šeimos istorija. Šią šeimą kelerius metus persekiojo jiems ir aplinkiniams nesuprantami reiškiniai. Pradėjus atidžiau juos tirti, paaiškėjo, kad labiausiai dėl jų „kalta“ Gema. Dar vaikystėje ji sapnuodavo pranašiškus sapnus. Vėliau Gema paliko tėvų namus Ispanijoje ir apsigyveno Prancūzijoje. Kai retkarčiais ji aplankydavo tėvų namus, elektros prietaisai, dujinė vi-ryklė imdavo gesti. Jai išvykus, vėl viskas veikdavo normaliai. Kai Gemai sukako 35 metai, jau ir jos namuose Prancūzijoje pradėjo dėtis keisti nepaaiškinami dalykai. Durys piktai užsitrenkdavo, prispausdamos jos pirštus, stalčiai, stalčiukai irgi tarsi gaudė jos rankas. Naktinė lempa, kurią Gema norėjo uždegti, pakilo į orą ir trenkė jai per galvą. Kažkas nematomas bandė jai įdrėksti, įgnybti. O dvi dienas iš eilės lediniai pirštai čiupo jai už gerklės ir bandė smaugti. Ir net vyro akivaizdoje nematoma jėga bloškė jos galvą nuo pagalvės ir ėmė daužyti į lovos kraštą. O Seržui vis dingdavo akiniai. Nuo sutuoktinių kažkas nutraukdavo antklodę, lova pati imdavo slankioti po kambarį. Virtuvėje, atidarius šaldytuvą ar šaltą viryklės orkaitę, pasklisdavo bjaurus sieros kvapas. Nei iš šio, nei iš to patalpose tapdavo labai šalta arba labai karšta.
Gemos ir Seržo sūnelis pasakojo, kad naktį pas jį ateina „kitas tėvelis“, kuris žaidžia jo žaislais. „Tėvelį“ domino ir pats vaikas. Jis dažnai pabusdavo žnaibomas ar tampomas už ausų. O vieną rytą jį rado kniūpsčią su diržu, suveržtu ant kaklo.
Sutuoktiniai vis dėlto neprarado galvos, nors kiti jų vietoje ko gero išprotėtų. Savo persekiotoją jie net ėmė vadinti Henriku. Daug kartų Gema matydavo jo siluetą. Sykį „Henrikas“ tupėjo prie įėjimo į rūsį, kai ten ėjo Gema. Jai prisiartinus, „Henrikas“ atsistojo ir bandė užtverti jai kelią. Bet Gema ne-pabūgo, ėjo toliau, nors reikėjo pereiti kiaurai jo figūrą. „Jutau kaip einu per kažką nestabilaus ir šalto“, – vėliau pasakojo ji.
Fotoaparato, kuris buvo pritvirtintas nufotografuoti „Henriką“, juosta išnyko, o vietoj jos atsirado popieriaus skiautelės su piešiniais. Jų buvo aptikta ir po lova, ir… ant Gemos šlaunies. Tada mokslininkai įkalbėjo Gemą imtis piešimo. Psichoterapeutai atpalaidavo jos psichiką, ir jos ranka ėmė piešti tarsi savaime arba valdoma nematomos jėgos. Piešiniai buvo labai gražūs ir neįprasti.
Gema ėmė tapyti nors anksčiau apie tai nieko nenutuokė. Matyt, „Henrikui“ to ir reikėjo. Savo pasitenkinimą jis parodė labai keistai – ant Gemos tarsi iš dangaus pradėjo kristi…rožančiai. Mokslininkai ištyrė, kad tai paprasti žemiški rožančiai, kuriuos, jų nuomone, „Henrikas“ iš kažkur „pasiskolindavo“. Vėliau ir pati Gema, ir aplinkiniai matė kažkieno ranką, išnyrančią iš oro, kuri paimdavo Gema už rankos ir įdėdavo į ją rožančių.
Kas vis dėlto buvo šis „Henrikas“ ir kodėl jis pasirinko būtent Gemą, galima tik spėlioti. Tačiau apie keistas dvasias „dailininkus“, piešiančius įvairius ženklus tiesiai ant žmogaus kūno, yra žinoma nemažai faktų. 1990 m. vasarą daug žmonių, ypač moterų, tapo šių „dailininkų“ aukomis – ant jų odos staiga atsirasdavo keisti, nesuprantami piešiniai. Jų forma būdavo įvairiausia. Čia ir nežinomų augalų lapų su karpytais kraštais piešiniai, eglišakių raštas, čia ir įvairios geometrinės figūros (kvadratai, trikampiai), stilizuoti skaitmenys, kabalistiniai ženklai, strėlės, peteliškės, tiesios ir vingiuotos linijos, čia ir stilizuotas žmogaus su antenomis ant galvos atvaizdas… Nukentėjusiųjų amžius irgi įvairus – nuo paauglės iki pensininkės. Ir geografija plati: Pabaltijys, Tadžikistanas, Ukraina, Rusija. Piešiniai pasirodydavo ant rankų, kojų, nugaros (paprastai ant dešinės mentės), dažniausiai raudonos, oranžinės arba rožinės spalvos – tarsi po nudegimo. Kai kuriais atvejais buvo ir baltos spalvos piešinių. Kai kurie piešiniai išnykdavo patys po kelių valandų, o kai kurie likdavo ne vieniems metams. Ir joks muilas, joks skystis nepajėgdavo jų nuplauti.
Daugiausiai piešinių pasirodė 1990 m. birželio 21 d. Daugelis žmonių, ant kurių kūno pasirodydavo piešiniai, tuo metu pajusdavo keistą nerimą, nedidelį skausmą ar niežulį. Buvo keli atvejai, kai ant žmogaus rankos siluetas. O štai 1990 m. gegužės 28 d. dvasių kontaktas su žmonėmis pasireiškė kaip nežinomo skraidančio objekto (NSO) pasirodymas. Tą dieną 11 valandą septintokė Dina Šakirova iš Šarchinau kaimo Gisaro rajone (Tadžikistanas) pamatė NSO. Ji tuo metu buvo namuose. Staiga jai pasirodė, kad kambaryje labai karšta, net galvą pradėjo skaudėti.
- Priėjau prie lango, – pasakoja ji, – kažkas mane apakino.
Po kiek laiko pramerkiu akis ir matau: už lango kabo mūsų kambario dydžio šviečiantis rutulys. Jame atsidaro liukas. Rutulyje šviesu, nugarom į mane sėdi kažkokie robotai, aprengti metalu blizgančiais drabužiais. O šalia sėdi moteris – tai iš figūros – juodai balta suknelė, ir žiūri į mane. Jos veidas labai nemalonus, prie galvos pritaisytas kažkoks prietaisas… moteris trakštelėjo kažkokiu jungikliu, ir aš tarsi savo galvoje išgirdau kimų, mechaninį balsą: „Tu skrisi su mumis“. Bet aš nenorėjau. Ir tuoj pat netekau sąmonės. Kai atsipeikėjau, pirmiausia, pajutau skausmą dešinėje kojoje.
Į ligoninę mergaitė buvo nugabenta greitosios pagalbos mašina. Turėjo aukštą kraujospūdį, buvo labai susijaudinusi, išsiplėtusiais akių vyzdžiais, šaltomis rankomis. Ir visą laiką kartojo: „skrendam, skrendam…“. O ant dešinės kojos buvo oranžinis piešinys – schematinis būtybės su dviem akim ir spinduliuojančios saulės virš jos galvos atvaizdas.
Ką tokiais piešiniais dvasios ar gal nežinomos būtybės nori pasakyti žmonėms, neaišku. Taipogi sunku pasakyti, ar šie reiškiniai siejasi su pomirtiniu gyvenimu. Bet šiaip ar taip visi tie faktai apie bendravimą su dvasiomis, atrodo, neprieštarauja Bažnyčios teiginiams apie pomirtinį gyvenimą. Dar daugiau klausimų, neaiškumų kelia masiniai vaiduoklių pasirodymai. Tai gali būti didžiulės vaiduoklių kolonos arba šiaip minios žmonių. Žinoma, tai – labai reti atvejai, bet istorijoje vis dėlto užfiksuota ir tokių. Apie juos, pvz., rašoma Č. Ledbiterio knygoje „Aiškiaregystė“, išleistoje dar 1914 m. Maskvoje. Štai keletas pavyzdžių.
…Gavara parke, netoli Riplej (Anglija) net keletas žmonių matė visą korpusą kareivių, aprengtų baltais mundieriais, sutartiniai žygiuojančių ir darančių posūkius – tarsi rikiuotės pratybose. Jie kaip pasirodė, taip ir išnyko staiga, nepalikdami šio vaizdo stebėtojams jokių pėdsakų.
Netoli tos vietovės panašų vaizdą matė prieš porą metų ir vienas fermeris su sūnumi. Iš pradžių jie irgi neabejojo, kad mato tikrus kareivius. Liudininkams užteko laiko suskaičiuoti 6 kareivių kolonų, po septynis kareivius gretoje. Be to, kareivius lydėjo daugybė moterų ir vaikų. Kareiviai buvo raudonai aprengti ir jų ginklai spindėjo saulėje. Tarp kareivių, kolonų viduryje, matėsi kažkoks gyvulys – gal elnias, gal arklys – žygiuojantys gana negailestingai, netgi durtuvais ragino jį bėgti pirmyn. Vadovavo visiems vienas karininkas, jojantis ant arklio. Ant galvos jis turėjo skrybėlę su auksiniais pozumentais, dėvėjo mėlyną husarišką milinę su raudonais rankovių atvartais. Abu žiūrovai matė jį taip aiškiai, kad vėliau galėtų jį visur atpažinti. Bet jie išsigando kareivių, jų manymu, atžygiavusių iš Airijos, todėl skubiai šokdami per griovį, pasitraukė kareiviams iš kelio. Bet tuo metu, kai jie peršoko griovį, viskas dingo, jokių kareivių nesimatė.
Panašus vaizdas mūsų šimtmečio pradžioje matytas Padeborne, Vestfalijoje (Vokietija). Matė jį apie 30 žmonių. Kadangi po kelių metų toje vietovėje iš tikrųjų buvo surengta dvidešimties tūkstančių kareivių apžiūra, visas tas reiškinys įvertintas kaip proskopija – ateities regėjimas. Tačiau yra aprašyta ir tokių vaizdų, kuriuose vaiduokliai negalėjo pranašauti jokių toje vietoje būsimų įvykių. Tokį masinio vaiduoklių pasirodymo pavyzdį pateikia Garietas Martinas savo veikale „Anglijos ežerai“. Štai ką jis rašo: „Soutor Fell – tai kalnas, ant kurio miriadai vaiduoklių tam tikrais laiko intervalais, per dešimtį metų praėjusiame amžiuje rodėsi daugeliui žmonių. Juos dvi su puse valandos stebėjo 26 liudininkai ir visi kotedžų, iš kurių matosi tas kalnas, gyventojai. Pažymėtina, kad šis kalnas išraižytas tarpekliais, šiaurinė ir vakarinė jo pusė baigiasi vertikaliais 900 pėdų skardžiais, taigi joks didesnis kareivių būrys ten negalėtų žygiuoti.
1735 m. vidurvasaryje Lankasterių fermos tarnautojas, būdamas per pusę mylios nuo to kalno, pamatė, kad rytinė kalno pusė tiesiog apdengta kariuomenės, žygiuojančios iš šiaurės ir dingstančios viršūnės įduboje. Kareiviai pasirodydavo atskirais daliniais ir žygiuodavo link viršūnės. Taip tęsėsi apie valandą laiko.
Kai šis tarnautojas papasakojo matytą vaizdą, iš jo visi tik pasijuokė. Bet po kelių metų, taip pat vidurvasary, jau pats fermos šeimininkas Lankasteris pamatė ant to kalno kelis raitelius, tarsi grįžtančius iš medžioklės. Tas vaizdas jo nenustebino. Tačiau kai po 10 minučių jis atsitiktinai vėl žvilgtelėjo į kalną, pamatė tuos pačius raitelius ir jau paskui juos žygiuojančią nesibaigiančią kareivių koloną, po penkis karius vienoje gretoje. Visa fermerio šeimyna matė tuos kareivius vaiduoklius, kiekvienam daliniui vadovavo raitas karininkas, jodinėjantis pirmyn atgal. Kai galų gale vakaro sutemos pradėjo gaubti kalną, tvarka tarp žygiuojančiųjų tarsi pablogėjo, kareiviai pradėjo maišytis ir pagaliau viskas dingo sutemose.

Kitą rytą kai kurie stebėtojai pakilo į kalną paieškoti gurguolių ir arklių pėdsakų. Bet nei žolėje, nei tankiai šlaituose sužėlusių viržių krūmuose jokio, kad ir mažiausio, pėdsako neaptikta. Apimti nuostabos ir baimės liudininkai, prisiekdami vietiniam teisėjui, patvirtino visą šį dalyką ir su siaubu laukė škotų maišto. Jų manymu, tas vaiduoklių pasirodymas pranašavo šį maištą“.
