Keisas matė ne tik visas katastrofas, bet ir pasaulio įvykių eigą. Jis regėjo karus ir taiką, ekonomines depresijas, rasinę nesantaiką, darbininkų kovas. Pavieniams lankytojams jis nuspėdavo ateitį taip pat gerai kaip ir tautoms. Jis išpranašaudavo, kad jie sukurs šeimas, išsiskirs, turės vaikų, taps teisininkais, gydytojais, architektais, jūreiviais arba jūrų pėstininkais. Dauguma pranašiškų įspūdžių aplankydavo jį per skaitymus miego metu, tačiau ir nemiegant spontaniškai pasireikšdavo jo telepatinės savybės. Kartą jis išėjo iš kambario, kuriame buvo daug jaunuolių, nes staiga išvydo, kaip visi išeina į karą, o trys iš jų negrįžta.
Jo pranašystės buvo neįtikėtinai tikslios – beveik šimtu procentu. Keisas suklydo tik kartą ar du, kalbėdamas apie Hitlerio motyvaciją (iš pradžių jis galvojo, kad ji buvo iš esmės gera), o taip pat apie visišką Kinijos demokratizaciją. Tačiau daug kas iš to, ką jis numatė, taip stebėtinai išsipildė, kad šios kelios klaidelės tampa visiškai nereikšmingos.
Jis ne tik išpranašavo Antrąjį pasaulinį karą, bet ir nurodė metus, kada jis prasidės ir baigsis. Jis matė ne tik gilią, 1929 metais visą pasaulį apimsiančią depresiją, ir trumpai apibūdino keistas biržos žlugimo detales, bet ir išpranašavo, kad ši depresija 1933 metais pradės slūgti.
Viena labiausiai vertinamų jo pranašysčių – apie tarybinę Rusiją – taip pat išsipildė. Tai buvo beveik paskutinė iš jo didžiųjų pranašysčių, paskelbta keletą mėnesių prieš mistiko mirtį. Jis matė ne tik komunizmo žlugimą Rusijoje, bet ir šios šalies iškilimą, suteikiantį pasauliui viltį: „Per Rusiją į pasaulį ateina viltis. Ne komunizmas ir bolševizmas. Ne. Ateina laisvė! Kiekvienas žmogus gyvens bendram žmonių labui. Ten gimė pagrindiniai principai. Prireiks nemažai metų, kol jie įgaus formą. Tik iš Rusijos vėl ateina pasaulio viltis”.
Jis matė Rusiją draugystės saitais pagaliau susietą su Jungtinėmis Valstijomis. „Kas ją (Rusiją) ves? Draugystė su tauta, kuri netgi ant savo pinigų turi žodžius „Mes tikime Dievu”.
Keisas buvo turbūt pirmasis, numatęs šalyje artėjančią rasinę nesantaiką ir 1920-aisiais perspėjęs apie tai. 1939 metais jis išpranašavo, kad mirs du prezidentai, tuo metu kils rasinės ir darbininkų kovos bei neturtingųjų maištas.
Viskas iš tiesų įvyko tarp Franklino Ruzvelto mirties 1945 balandį ir Džono Kenedžio nužudymo 1963-iųjų lapkritį. Maištai Litlroke, Birmingeme, Čikagoje ir Niujorke tik dar geriau įrodė Keiso teisumą. O jo pranašystės, kurios saugomos A.R.E – Tyrimų ir švietimo asociacijos – archyvuose ir gali būti daugelį kartų patikrintos, pateikia niūrų ateinančių dienų vaizdą: „Kai brolis kausis prieš brolį, tada pamatysite savo šalį, apsemtą krauju”.
Keisas nebuvo pranašas įprasta prasme. Jam nepatiko pranašauti ar atkreipti į save dėmesį. Jis dažnai susilaikydavo ir nesakydavo žmonėms, ką matė, nes nenorėdavo turėti įtakos jų laisvam apsisprendimui.
Net jei rezultatas būdavo nulemtas, paties žmogaus pasirinkime Keisas įžvelgdavo individo galimybę augti.
Galbūt todėl, kad pajamos nebuvo geroji motyvacija, Keisui niekada nepavykdavo uždirbti pakankamai pinigų. Tačiau finansinėmis pranašystėmis jis sukraudavo turtus kitiems, ir netgi po jo mirties žmonės įgijo tūkstančius, sulaukę nekilnojamojo turto prekybos pagyvėjimo, kurį jis numatė Norfolko – Niuporto Nius zonoje.
Tie, kurie gerbė pranašą ir juo tikėjo, jo gimtajame mieste sugebėjo uždirbti dvigubai. Pirmą kartą — prieš keturiasdešimt metų, kai jis išpranašavo, kad nekilnojamojo turto vertė Virdžinijos Byč mieste padidės šiaurinėje dalyje, o antrą kartą – 1966 metais. Mistikas sakė, jos tais metais turto vertės augimas baigsis, o pietinėje dalyje bus įkurtas paplūdimys. Sį procesą aš pats mačiau savo akimis.
Tie, kas Keiso dėka užsidirbo pinigų, bet vėliau nustojo vadovautis jo patarimais, viską prarado. Likus maždaug šešiems mėnesiams iki biržos žlugimo 1929 metais jis draugams iš Volstryto patarė parduoti visas jų turimas akcijas. Tačiau jiems taip ilgai sekėsi klestinčioje biržoje, kad šie pradėjo manyti, jog patirta sėkmė – jų nuopelnas. Draugai nepaklausė – ir žlugo.
Kitos pranašystės tampa suprantamos tik pažvelgus į praeitį. 1925 metais, skaitydamas apie jauno vyriškio gyvenimą, seanso metu Keisas kalbėjo: „Dabartinėje sferoje (gyvenime) jam reikės susirūpinti dėl didelės pinigų sumos. 1929 metais veikiant nepalankioms jėgoms, atsargumas reikalingas tam, kad pinigai, jei nebus kreipiamas dėmesys į menkiausius dalykus, nebūtų atimti”.
Išpranašavęs ekonominę depresiją netrukus (1931 metais) mistikas paminėjo ir tikslią jos pabaigą. „1933 metų pavasarį bus tikrai aiškus pagerėjimas.” Kaip gali prisiminti daugelis depresijos „kovose” užgrūdintų veteranų, Franklinas Ruzveltas, inauguruotas 1933 metų kovo 4-ąją, atgaivino pasitikėjimą, pasklidusį po šalį šūkiu, kad „mes turime bijoti tik pačios baimės”, o kartu ir verslą.
Labai puikiai Keisu pasinaudojo spekuliantai. Paklaustas, kuriose šalies vietose ekonomika atsigaus pirmiausiai, jis paminėjo Pensilvanijos, Ohajo valstijas ir vidurio vakarus, išskirdamas polinkį į „santykinių kainų sureguliavimą biržose ir naudingas automobilių bei plieno obligacijas”, tačiau visai neminėdamas geležinkelių.
Keisas buvo unikalus pranašas. Beveik visi aiškiaregiai vengia įvardyti jų pranašysčių išsipildymo laiką. Jie teisinasi, kad laikas neegzistuoja. Keisas buvo tarsi snaudžiantis kalendorius. Iš jo plaukdavo datos, kupinos užuominų apie būsimus įvykius. Dar prieš Antrąjį pasaulinį karą jis nurodė 1936-uosius kaip kritinius, kuriais bus suardyta taika. Tais metais ne tik Hitleris paskelbė apie savo ketinimus, žygiuodamas per Reino žemę. Italija nusiaubė Etiopiją, Ispanijos pilietiniame kare pasiskirstė pagrindinės jėgos, o Tautų lyga subyrėjo, sugriaudama kolektyvinio saugumo svajonę, atsiradusią po Pirmojo pasaulinio karo.
Niekas geriau nenumatė pagrindinių to laikotarpio įvykių. Dar prieš tai, kai pasaulio užsienio reikalų ministerijos tik pradėjo įtarti, jis išpranašavo, kad 1935 metais susijungs Vokietija su Austrija, o vėliau „Japonija prisidės prie šios įtakos”. Tuo metu Japonija reiškė savo palankumą Jungtinėms Valstijoms.
Net skaitydamas vienam žmogui jis dažnai pateikdavo didelių, milijonus žmonių paveiksiančių įvykių užuominas. Pavyzdžiui, 1941 metų rugpjūtį, likus keturiems mėnesiams iki Perl Harboro užpuolimo, jaunas vyras, abejodamas, ką jam pasirinkti – armiją ar laivyną, – norėjo sužinoti, kiek laiko jis turės tarnauti. „Kiek metų ši situacija (karas) gali tęstis?”
„Mažiausiai iki keturiasdešimt penktųjų”, – pasakė Keisas. Keisas taip pat pastebėjo, kada pasikeis karo situacija, nors mes (amerikiečiai) dar nedalyvavome jame, kai 1939 metų lapkritį, numanydamas mūsų įsijungimą, pasakė: „Keturiasdešimt antraisiais ir trečiaisiais metais ši šalis patirs liūdnus išgyvenimus”.
Nagrinėdamas visai kitas temas Keisas numatė karo pabaigą. 1941 metų rugpjūtį verslo administracijos atstovas paklausė apie verslą. Keisas matė jo veiklą tam tikrą laiką sustabdytą, tačiau po to vėl klestinčią. „Nes būtybės pastangomis daug kas gali būti atlikta, kai tarp 1945 ir 1946 metų taika vėl valdys pasaulį.” Taika įsigalėjo įpusėjus 1945-iesiems,
Galbūt dramatiškiausia Keiso matyta Antrojo pasaulinio karo vizija buvo „sapnas apie arklį”. Aiškiomis spalvomis jis pranašavo milijonus mirčių kare, kuris buvo pats kruviniausias iš kada nors vykusių. Vizija, pasirodžiusi tą 1941 metų vasarą, kai Rusiją užplūdo akivaizdžiai nenugalimi naciai, pranašavo stebėtinai sėkmingą raudonųjų komunizmo ordų kontrataką prieš „juoduosius Vokietijos riterius”. Sapnas, kaip kartais nutikdavo, aplankė Keisą skaitymo metu. Atsibudęs jis prisiminė jį labai aiškiai. Prisodrintas simbolių sapnas buvo panašus į ,Apreiškimo” knygą. ,Aš mačiau, kad žmogus buvo ponas R. (tas, kuriam tada skaitė). Tada pamačiau ateinantį arklį – ryškiai raudoną. Kai jis priėjo arčiau, pamačiau, kad raitelis buvo ponas R. Jis dėvėjo baltos ir mėlynos spalvų šarvus, o jį sekė ordos žmonių. Kai du arkliai susitiko, atrodė, kad ponas R. išnyko ir susidūrė dvi grupės. Pirmojo arklio pasekėjai buvo gerai ginkluoti, o kiti ne. Tačiau pas kui raudonąjį arklį sekė tokios minios, jog atrodė, kad jos žygiuoja tiesiai per gerai ginkluotos grupės gretas, nors dėl to žuvo milijonai.”
Keisas atrodė tarsi apsėstas Rusijos likimo. Jis tikėjosi, kad taika pagaliau aplankys šį nenuspėjamą „rudąjį lokį”. „Rusijos religinis pakylėjimas, – kalbėjo jis pačiame Stalino tironijos apogėjuje, – atneš pasauliui didesnę viltį. Tada ta grupė, kuri turi artimesnius santykius (su Rusija), galės gyvuoti geriau, kai laipsniškai keisis ir galutinai prisitaikys prie pasaulio taisyklių.”
Ir prieš Antrojo pasaulinio karo pradžią jam vis dar pasirodydavo Rusija. Ji pasirodydavo ir tada, kai pagaliau tapo laisva. „Rūpesčių išvarginti žmones įgaus naują supratimą, nes priespaudos jungas (carų valdymas) pažadino kitą kraštutinumą. Kol ten nebus žodžio laisvės, kol nebus galima melstis, kaip liepia sąžinė, tol šalyje bus neramumai.”
Keisas dažnai pabrėždavo, kad žmogaus dvasinis gyvenimas atsispindi bendruomenės ir tautos vertybėse. „Kiekviena tauta, kiekviena žmonių grupė pagal savo dvasią pasirenka tikslus ne tik žemės, bet ir visatos veikloje, – apie susitaikymo metą kalbėjo jis Miunchene. -Prancūzijos žmonės kažkada sukūrė priklausomybę, o vėliau ir nepriklausomybę, kuri leidžia džiaugtis grožiu, gerbia kūno neliečiamumą.” Galbūt tai buvo būdas pasakyti, kad prancūzų pasigėrėjimas estetika, begalinis rūpinimasis kareiviais, esančiais fronte su naciais, yra nacionalinis jų bruožas. Kitoje šalyje visuma taip pat susideda iš jos dalių. „Kaip tik taip yra Anglijoje, tokia yra jungtinė jėga Amerikoje, viešpataujančios jėgos Japonijoje ir Kinijoje. Lygiai taip pat atgimsta Rusija, kuri skleis naują suvokimą. Italija – parsiduodanti dėl bendro viralo. Vokietija – smūgis savo autoritetui dėl viešpatavimo ir brolių priespaudos, dėlė, siurbianti visatos kraują.”
Keisas ne visada taip nepalankiai matė hitlerinę Vokietiją. Tuoj po Hitlerio atėjimo j valdžią 1933 metais grupė žmonių, Vokietijoje ir Amerikoje simpatizuojančių Trečiajam reichui, paklausė Keiso:
„Ar sugebės Hitleris paimti valdžią Vokietijoje ir išvengti žydų įsikišimo?”
„Šiuo metu dėl to dedamos visos pastangos”.
„Ar suteiksite bet kokią kitą informaciją apie Hitlerį ir jo politiką, kuri mums bus įdomi ir naudinga?”
„Nagrinėkite tai, kas yra šio žmogaus ir jo minčių varomoji jėga, kaip jis perėmė valdžią. Nedaugelis atlaiko griaunančią valdžios jėgą.”
Jei Keisas būtų daugiau nekalbėjęs, ir taip jau būtų buvę daug pasakyta. Tačiau jis tęsė: „Netgi šis žmogus. Nebent bus svarbių pokyčių, kurie apsaugos”. Tuo tikėdamas Keisas nedvejodamas tvirtino, kad Hitleris turėjo pasikeisti.
Tačiau Keisas neilgai pranašavo apie Hitlerį ir diktatorius. 1938 metų birželį, perspėdamas prancūzus dėl nuolankumo, jis taip pat numatė nacių galą, fašistinio ir komunistinio režimų žlugimą. Jis matė, kad šių režimų valdžia engia savo liaudį taip pat, kaip Ispanijos, Kinijos ir Japonijos. Rusijos socialinis eksperimentas negalėjo ilgai gyvuoti. Mėginimas valdyti „ne tik ekonominį, bet ir kūrybinį bei dvasinį” eilinio Rusijos piliečio gyvenimą buvo ne tik ydingas, bet, laimei, pasmerktas žlugti. „Tai sukelia skurdą ir sunkius išmėginimus, o to neturėtų būti. Taip yra bet kurioje šalyje, kur vyrauja komunistinis, fašistinis ar nacių režimas. Kai tarp visuomenės grupių atsiranda skirtumai, tai tėra tik socialiniai skirtumai ir nebegalioja įsakas „Mylėk savo artimą kaip pats save”. Viešpats nėra tokių asmenų (diktatorių) gerbėjas, ir tokia padėtis negali ilgai tęstis.”
Prieš karą Keisas pasąmonėje aiškiai regėjo ne tik nacistus kaip žiaurius taikos laužytojus, bet ir didėjantį pasipriešinimą Hitleriui. „Si palaipsniui auganti nematoma jėga privalo tapti atsvara nacių ir arijų idėjai. Tai palaipsniui didins priešiškumą. Ir jeigu ten nebus antgamtinių jėgų, kurios darytų įtaką žmonių veiklai, įsikišimo, visas pasaulis atsidurs ugnyje. Ją sukels militaristinės grupuotės ir žmonės, kurie pritaria jėgai ekspancijai.”
Žmogus, virš durų pasikabinęs du vienodus Abraomo Linkolno ir Roberto Li portretus, savo šaliai – Amerikai – patarė laikytis plačios nuosaikios politikos. Jis pranašavo, kad griežtas reglamentavimas, nepriklausomai nuo paskelbto tikslo, šioje šalyje niekada nebus veiksmingas. „Bus išlaikoma tokia harmonija, kuri padės šaliai pačiai nustatyti, kas yra laisvė, kaip kiekvienai sielai yra duota galimybė atsiskleisti jos veikloje, dirbti ir kurti. Nė vienam individui nesakoma, kur ir kaip. Jis pats visko siekia, naudodamasis savo sugebėjimais ir aktyvumu.”
Dar prieš Antrąjį pasaulinį karą, 1938 metų birželį, Keisas pateikė geresnės ateities projektą, į jį įtraukdamas ir mūsų didžiąją visuomenę. ,Ateis nauja tvarka. Didesnis dėmesys bus skiriamas žmogui, kad kiekviena siela taptų savo brolio sergėtoja. Vyks įvairūs pokyčiai politikoje, ekonomikoje ir visuose santykiuose (tarp žmonių), kuriuose atsiras lygybė arba gilesnis supratimas, kad ji reikalinga. Šių pasikeitimų laikas artėja. Jame pritaps visi, kas turi idealų -asmenybės, žmonių grupės, draugijos. Savo idealus jie galės pritaikyti praktiškai ir bus visų gerbiami.” Tačiau jis perspėjo: „Jei jie neatsikels ir nepradės veikti, jų santykius ir darbus gali pakeisti nauja tvarka”.
Keisas užjautė darbininkus, tačiau 1936 metais numatė beveik nepaliaujamą nesantaiką tarp darbo ir kapitalo, kad ir vieni, ir kiti kels reikalavimus, įžiebsiančius ugnį. Jis beveik tiksliai pakomentavo profsąjungų reikalavimą steigti nereikalingas darbo vietas: „Visoje šalyje už sunkų darbą turėtų būti atlyginama vis geriau ir geriau ir mažiau įkuriama dirbtinių darbo vietų specifinėse srityse. Jei to nebus, prasidės skilimas, neramumai ir nesantaika”.
Buvo peikiamas ir kapitalas. „Jei nebus kompromisų, dėmesio tiems, kas gamina, nebus geriau padalijamas darbu sukurtas perteklius, šalyje kils dar didesni neramumai.”
Kaip pietietis, kilęs iš pasienio valstijos, Keisas gerai suprato artėjančią integracijos problemą. Jis tikėjo broliškais žmonių santykiais ir neabejojo, kad tik gera valia galėtų išspręsti iškilsiančius nesutarimus. Tačiau jo pasąmonė sakė, kad situacija bus klaidingai traktuojama. Vienoje savo dramatiškiausių pranašysčių jis matė rasines grupių kovas, kilusias įvairiuose šalies kampeliuose: „Bus neramumai, bus kova tarp darbo ir kapitalo. Prieš išsirinkdami antrąjį iš prezidentų, kuris mirs eidamas savo pareigas, jūsų šalyje kils nesutarimai. Bus minios valdžia”.
Netgi tada jis tikėjosi oportunizmo iš politikų, linkusių pasitelkti kulkas ir balsų blokavimą, nei nutraukti tiek daug nesutarimų sukėlusią neteisybę. Keisas pabrėžė, kad tikroji lygybė nėra netvarkingas grupių susimaišymas, nėra klaidinga, dirbtinai sutvarkyta integracija. Tai asmenybės vertinimas pagal nuopelnus, nepaisant odos spalvos.
Jo dažnai klausdavo: „Koks turėtų būti mūsų požiūris į juodaodžius?” Jis atsakydavo: „Jie turi būti vertinami pagal jų asmeninį tinkamumą kaip ir kiti visuomenės nariai”.
Keisas juodaodžius visada vadino broliais. Provokuojančioje prognozėje apie rasinę kovą, sugrįždamas prie Pilietinio karo analogijos, jis išpranašavo tai, kas aiškiai dar nėra įvykę. Pranašystė skambėjo iškilmingai ir primygtinai beveik kaip Biblijoje: „Kai dauguma jūros salų ir dauguma sausumos žemių bus pavergtos tų, kurie nebijo nei žmogaus, nei velnio, kurie geriau susijungs su jėga, leidžiančia jiems skelbti, jog tiesa yra valdžia ir jėga, tokie kaip supermenas, kuris bus naujai sukurtos kartos idealas, tada jūsų šalis pamatys kraujo upes, kaip tada, kai brolis kovojo prieš brolį”.
Tai buvo ryškus Keiso pranašysčių pavyzdys. Kiekvienas žodis ar frazė turėjo tam tikrą reikšmę. „Brolis prieš brolį” reiškė, kad pilietis kaunasi prieš pilietį pilietiniame kare. Tuo metu, kai 1940 metais Norfolke A.R.E. konferencijos metu mistikas regėjo šią pranašystę, konferencijos dalyviai neturėjo jokių abejonių dėl tokios reikšmės. Tik buvo abejojama dėl laiko ir blogio jėgos, paminėtos pranašystėje, įvardijimo. Tai galėjo būti Rusija, Kinija ar kokia kita nežinoma šalis, laukianti, kada galės paskelbti, kad „jėga yra tiesa”.
Tačiau juodaodžiams turi būti suteikta galimybė. Pats Keisas viską gerai suprato. Jis gana įžvalgiai numatė rasinio pakilimo metus. „Būti savo brolio sergėtoju visai nereiškia, kad aš turiu pasakyti jam, ką daryti, ar kad jis, nieko nepaisydamas, turi padaryti tą ar aną. Tai reiškia, kad visi yra laisvi prieš įstatymą ir prieš Dievą.”
Kelias į integraciją ar rasinę santaiką buvo nelengvas. „Daug neramumų kils iš vidaus.” Kelis kartus jis apeliavo į žmonių nuoširdumą, bandydamas išspręsti rasinę problemą. „Nėra meilės Dievui širdyse tų, kurie vadovauja priešiškų grupių veiksmams.”
Didžiausiam pasaulyje karui įpusėjus Keiso paklausė apie taiką. Jis perspėjo, kad pralaimėtojai – Vokietija ir Japonija – gali netrukus vėl pakilti, jei jų šalys nebus užimtos ir demokratizuotos.
Jo paklausė: „Kaip mes galėtume bendradarbiauti, kurdami tokias tarptautinės policijos pajėgas, kurios nenuteiktų mūsų nesenų priešų prieš mus?”
„Jie to tikėjosi. Jei ko nors panašaus nesukursite, jie visada manys, kad laimėjo karą, nors kalba apie savo pasiryžimą atsilyginti!”
„Ar naujas vokiečių švietimas apie demokratijos principus gali būti organizuotas taip, kad jie patys norėtų bendradarbiauti su mumis?”
„Kas gali nustatyti demokratinio švietimo standartus Vokietijai, kuri mano, jog jau yra išmintingesnė už visas demokratijas? Verčiau mokykite Vokietiją, kaip ieškoti ir rasti Dievą, kaip pritaikyti Jo įstatymus bendraujant su savo artimu.”
1966 metų pavasarį (lengva būti gudriam po laiko) toks komentaras apie neatgailaujančią Vokietiją darė didelį įspūdį. Vieną dieną tingiai varčiau laikraštį. Mano žvilgsnis atsitiktinai užkliuvo už straipsnio apie vis didėjantį žydų kapų išniekinimą laisvoje Vokietijoje. Kadangi Vokietijoje nebeliko gyvų žydų, atgimstantys fašistai liejo savo apmaudą ir neapykantą ant neužmirštamų mirusiųjų. Vokietija, kaip numatė Keisas, turėjo daug ką sužinoti apie Dievą.
Tačiau Keisas ne visada buvo niūrus. Netgi tada, kai jo paprašydavo numatyti nelaimes. Pavyzdžiui, 1942 metų sausį išsigandęs, karo sujaudintas niujorkietis teiravosi: „Ar Niujorko valstijoje galiu jaustis saugus nuo bombų ir priešo atakų?”
Keiso atsakymas buvo sausas, bejausmis: „Kodėl ne, jei jis gyvena teisingai?”
Dažnai Keiso pranašystėse būdavo įžvelgiamos tokios reikšmės, kokių jis nenumanydavo. Štai kartą, kalbėdamas daug ginčų sukeliančios reinkarnacijos tema, linkolniškai pajuokavo apie Bibliją: „Aš skaitau ją vienaip, o jūs skaitote kitaip”. Tad galbūt dėl šios priežasties atrodė, kad miegančiojo pranašo pranašystės ne visada atrodė tarpusavyje susijusios. 1943 metais, skaitydamas leidėjui, vykstančiam į Kiniją su švietėjiška misija, išpranašavo, kad „per kitus dvidešimt penkerius metus” Kinija daug sužinos apie krikščioniškąjį tikėjimą. Vargu ar tai būtų tikėtina, matant komunistų viešpatavimą šiandieninėje raudonojoje Kinijoje. Tačiau Keisas pasakė dvi papildomas frazes. Pirmoji: „dabartiniu metu kai kam gali atrodyti, kad šito trūksta”; antroji: „taip bus daugiau per paskutiniuosius penkerius metus nei per pirmuosius dešimt”.
Kinija iki 1968-ųjų vis dar turėjo pasukti demokratijos keliu. Keisas pabrėžė, kad Kinija pamatys įvairių savo kastų ir sektų susivienijimą, „kurios prisijungs prie demokratinio kelio. Vis daugiau ir daugiau krikščioniško tikėjimo žmonių, – pridūrė jis, – ateis į politiką, o tai Kinijai reikš geresnį tam tikrų grupių valdymą, priklausomai nuo to, kaip gerai jos pasirodys. Ir jos progresuos, nes civilizacija juda į Vakarus”. Tai buvo sena Keiso tezė. Vyraujanti kultūra atsisuka į Vakarus, savo mantija pagaliau užklodama Jungtines Valstijas, kad ši dvasiškai susilygintų su ja.
Grįžęs iš Kinijos leidėjas pranešė Keisui, kad jis teisingai numatė jo sutikimą užsienyje. Tačiau pasauliniu mastu Keisas, ko gero, suklydo. Mao ir Cou En-lajus vargu ar buvo krikščioniški demokratinės visuomenės vadovai. Tačiau kai kurie Keiso mokiniai j tai žiūrėjo kiek kitaip, jie vis dėlto įžvelgė demokratinį judėjimą. Didžiulė Kinijos teritorija dabar buvo suvienyta, japonai — išvyti, o valdžioje — „demokratiškai” laisvi žmonės, sudarantys vadinamąjį parlamentą. „Tai negali būti tokia demokratija, su kuria mes galime bendrauti, – ramiai kalbėjo entuziastas, – tačiau dabartinė „tvarka” akivaizdžiai demokratiškiausia iš iki šiol buvusiųjų. Iš Kinijoje ir Rusijoje veikiančių krikščionybę išpažįstančių pogrindžio grupelių ateina pranešimai. Kas žino, ko galima tikėtis po keleto metų?”
Formosoje (Taivane), įveikus sunkumus Kinijoje, laikraštis „The Reader’s Digest” pranešė, kad dvylika milijonų žmonių prisijungė prie Čian Kai-ši (Kinijos armijos karininkas ir politikas; 1950 – 1975 metais buvo Kinijos Liaudies Respublikos prezidentas), kovojančio už laisvės atgimimą. Tačiau pagal tradiciją didžiosios kinų masės negalima paskubinti. „Kokia Kinijos nuodėmė? – svarstė Keisas. -Taip, ten gyvena ramybė, kuri nebus atsisakyta. Ji saugosi ir auga iš lėto, kaip per laukus tekantis upelis. Daugelį amžių ji prašo būti paliekama ramybėje ir nori džiaugtis tik tuo, kas yra joje pačioje”. Tačiau ar šventoji kaselė neišnyko kartu su krikščionybe? „Vieną dieną ji atsibudo ir nusikirpo plaukus! Taip, vieną dieną Kinijoje gims krikščionybė, kurią žmonės pritaikys savo gyvenime. Pagal žmogaus laiko sampratą ji yra labai toli, tačiau Dievo širdyje tai truks tik vieną dieną. Bet rytoj Kinija atsibus.”
Keisas galėjo būti ir erzinančiai šnekus, ir toks pat lakoniškas kaip jo mėgstama Biblija. Pačiame Antrojo pasaulinio karo įkarštyje, kada visur triumfavo Hitleris, jo paklausė: „Koks Hitlerio likimas?” Jis atsakė vienu žodžiu: „Mirtis”.
Kartais Keisas sakydavo, kad pranašystėmis nereikia tikėti, nes jose nėra maldos galios ir laisvos valios, kuriomis jis sąmoningai tikėjo. Tokiais atvejais jis pabrėždavo, kad niekas nenulemta iš anksto, o yra tik galimybė. Tačiau neribotose pranašystėse, regėtose savo pasąmonėje, jis įžvelgdavo, jog yra mažutė galimybė pačiam žmogui pasirinkti, kaip reaguoti į lemties gūsius – linksmai ar niūriai.
Jis retai pranašaudavo nemiegodamas, nes manė, kad įteigtas patarimas gali žmogų per daug paveikti. Be abejo, išimčių būdavo. Kartą jis perspėjo pravažiuojančią moterį, kad ši tądien nevažinėtų mašina; po kelių valandų mašina buvo sudaužyta. „Jo pranašystės, – kalbėjo artimas mistiko draugas, – buvo tarsi viltingos galimybės ar naudingi perspėjimai, neturintys tikslo ko nors sujaudinti, nustebinti ar įrodyti pranašo sugebėjimus.” Tačiau kai Keisas pamatė karą, pražudysiantį tris jaunus jo draugus, labai suabejojo savo talento naudingumu. Nė sekundę jis nenusiramindavo, vis melsdamas laisvos valios arba abejodamas savo nušvitimo akimirkomis.
Praktiniu požiūriu pranašystės būtų bereikšmės, jei jomis negalėtume pasitikėti, o būdamos klaidinančios, galėtų netgi įskaudinti tuos, kurie visiškai pasikliovė pranašyste. Grįžtant į 1920-uosius, kai Virdžinijoje Byč nekilnojamojo turto didžiausia vertė buvo pietinio paplūdimio zonoje, Keisas patarė pirkti šiaurinėje pusėje, nors visai nieko neišmanė apie nekilnojamąjį turtą. Tokiu būdu buvo įgytas jo štabas, o tie, kurie juo patikėjo, toje pusėje pirko žemę. Kai kurie tapo labai turtingi. Netgi mažų sklypų savininkai suklestėjo. „Siaurinis sklypas, už kurį prieš dvidešimt penkerius metus mokėjau penkis šimtus dolerių, dabar vertas beveik dvidešimties tūkstančių”, — gyrėsi man namų šeimininkė iš Vidžinijos Byč.
Jei Keisas būtų suklydęs, jo artimiausi pasekėjai galėjo skausmingai nukentėti. Tuo tarpu kitas Keisui atsidavęs žmogus praturtėjo iš ilgalaikių jo pranašysčių apie potvynių vandens bumą. 1958 metais Virdžinijos Byč verslininkas nusipirko aštuoniasdešimt akrų nereikalingos žemės, sumokėdamas po 125 dolerius už akrą. 1965 metais jam pasiūlė po 1250 dolerių už akrą. Investavęs 10 000 dolerių, jis gavo puikų 80000 tūkstančių dolerių pelną. „Viskas, ką aš padariau, tai tik paklausiau Keiso”, – kukliai paaiškino jis.
1932 metais Keiso paklausė, kokie pasikeitimai, jei tokių bus, vyks Norfolko – Virdžinijos Byč teritorijoje. Jis atsakė, kad apie 1958-uosius vyks pasikeitimai, pagaliau padarysiantys šią zoną „daug naudingesnę nei uostas”. Jis numatė, kad Norfolkas ir kaimyniniai miestai – Niuportas Nius ir Hamptonas – per trisdešimt metų taps „svarbiausiu rytinio kranto uostu, ne prastesniu už Filadelfiją ar Niujorką”. Jungtinių Valstijų surašymo duomenys rodo, kad iki 1964 metų Norfolko kompleksas toli pralenkė bet kurį konkurentą. Jo laivai pergabendavo šešiasdešimt milijonų tonų anglies, grūdų ir kitokių krovinių, kai tuo tarpu Niujorkas – keturiasdešimt aštuonis milijonus tonų, o Filadelfija dar mažiau – dvidešimt vieną.
Buvo įdomu sekti įvykius, kurie po kelerių metų vienam Keiso gerbėjų padėjo sukaupti nemažą pelną. 1957 metais – beveik tuo pačiu metu, kurį nurodė Keisas – buvo atidaryti Hamptono kelių tiltas tunelis, palengvinęs automobilių eismą, ir Ceispiko įlankos tiltas tunelis, ilgiausias pasaulyje tokio pobūdžio statinys, kurio vertė buvo du šimtai milijonų dolerių. Si arterija, išstūmusi nuobodžias keliones keltais, sustiprino teritoriją, kurioje prasidėjo statybų bumas. Dėl šios priežasties nekilnojamojo turto vertė ėmė sparčiai augti. Kitas vietinis verslininkas, atkreipęs dėmesį į Keisą, 1960 metais netoli Virdžinijoje Byč esančio tilto tunelio pabaigos (nors šis dar buvo statomas) įsigijo šešiolika akrų žemės. Kaina – penki tūkstančiai dolerių. 1965 metais, pasibaigus statybai ir išsiplėtus teritorijai, už savo žemę jis gavo 100 000 dolerių.
Laimingi investuotojai neilgai būtų dėkingi aiškiaregiui, nes jie tikrai nusiviltų, jei žemės vertė, užuot kilusi, imtų kristi. Ir jokios kalbos apie laisvą valią jų nepaguostų. Tačiau dabar kai kas gali manyti, kad laisva valia buvo labai svarbi jų pasiekimuose. „Tai buvo įvykių derinys, paskatinęs mane nusipirkti žemės, – pasakojo vienas laimingas spekuliantas. – Keiso nurodyti 1958-ieji ir jo augančios nekilnojamojo turto vertės prognozė prieš trisdešimt metų pradžiugino mane, kai pamačiau naujų tiltų ir tunelių, jungiančių teritoriją, planus. Tačiau dar turėjau sulyginti Keiso informaciją su tuo, kas vyksta iš tikrųjų, o po to pasiimti „savo naštą”. Čia yra laisva valia.”
Tačiau kiek laisvos valios buvo tikrovėje? Keisui šis klausimas atrodė keblus.
Po daugelio metų nagrinėdamas savo unikalių sugebėjimų priežastis Keisas jautė didelę pagarbą reiškiniui, kurį jis vadino „informacija”. Pats jis jos nevaldė ir nenorėjo, kad kiti interpretuotų ją savaip. Rašė jis aiškiai, sąmoningai, linkolniškai tiksliai, ir tam įtakos turėjo taip dažnai jo skaitoma Biblija, tačiau niekada neredagavo ir netikslino „aplink sukančių”pasakymų, nukreiptų į jo niekada neklystančią pasąmonę. Todėl paini aiškiaregio sakinio struktūra dažnai apstulbindavo. Tačiau deramai pasirengęs klausytojas visada rasdavo atsakymą. Kartą, „klaidžiodamas” po netaisyklingą Keiso sakinį, vienas seanso dalyvių paklausė, kaip pateikti skaitymus, kad jų reikšmė būtų išsamiausia.
„Pagerinkite supratimą”, – sausai atsakė Keisas.
Nagrinėdamas skaitymus, o ypač pranašystes, palaipsniui pradėjau skirti ne iš karto pastebimą sistemą. Tačiau ir tada kai kurios prognozės vis tiek liko nesuprantamos.
Rausdamasis A.R.E. bibliotekoje aptikau 1943 metų birželio mėnesio Keiso skaitymą apie pasaulinę padėtį. Tuo metu buvo pats Antrojo pasaulinio karo įkarštis. Jis nurodė, jog po kelerių dienų bus lemtingas įvykis. Keisas, daugiausia kalbėjęs apie taiką, staiga leidosi į smulkmenas: „Kitą penktadienį atsitiks keistas dalykas. Jis nustatys, kiek laiko, kiek ir ko reikės”.
Ar tai galėjo būti karo ženklas? O kas dar? Gerai prisiminiau, kad karas tęsėsi dar dvejus metus.
Tada Keiso paklausė: „Ar yra kokių nors pranešimų apie laiką, kada baigsis karas tarp šios šalies ir Vokietijos, Italijos ir Japonijos?” Jis vėl nurodė birželio pabaigą kaip galimą lūžio momentą.
„Šitie dalykai priklauso nuo žmonių minčių ir principų. Iki birželio 25 dienos jie sugebės susitarti, atsižvelgdami į daugiau nei vieną iš šių šalių.”
Keisas, matyt, kalbėjo apie įvykį, kuris buvo kaip jo ankstesnių minčių atgarsis; interpretuojant ir gilinantis į šias mintis, akivaizdžiai reikėjo įžvalgumo. Aš perverčiau almanachus ir enciklopedijas, tačiau 1943 metų birželio pabaigoje nieko reikšmingo neaptikau.
A.R.E. bibliotekoje ilgai gilinausi į Keiso bylas, todėl į viešbutį grįžau po vidurnakčio. Nepaisant vėlaus laiko, nusprendžiau atsipalaiduoti ties „Barbarosos” kopija. Tai buvo patikima anglų autoriaus Alano Klarko ataskaita apie Rusijos ir Vokietijos konfliktą. „Barbarosa” buvo vokiečių invazijos į Rusiją, Hitlerio taip optimistiškai pradėtos 1941 metų liepos 22 dieną, užkoduotas pavadinimas.
Netrukus atverčiau skyrių, pavadintą „Didžiausias istorijoje tankų mūšis”. Jame buvo rašoma apie didžiules grumtynes, vykusias pasienio fronte prie Kursko. Nesuskaičiuojama daugybė mašinų ir žmonių stovėjo išrikiuoti vieni prieš kitus. Čia buvo ir Vokietijos kariuomenės vadovybė, vadovaujama paties Hitlerio: Keitelis, fon Kliugė, Mansteinas, Modelis, Hotas, Guderianas. „Hoto ketvirtasis motorizuotas pulkas buvo Vokietijos armijos stipriausia jėga”. Rusų pusėje taip pat buvo susirinkusi visa armijos grietinėlė: maršalas Žukovas – nepralaimėjęs nė vieno mūšio sovietinis didvyris; Vasilevskis, Sokolovskis, Konevas, Popovas. Vokiečių veiksmų užmojis buvo toks platus, kad turėjo užkoduotą „Citadelės” pavadinimą. Skaitydamas pradėjau snausti, kai staiga mano žvilgsnis suakmenėjo. Clarkas rašė: „Žinoma, vokiečių armija mūšį organizavo visai kitaip nei sovietinės pajėgos u paskutinėmis 1943 metų birželio dienomis atrodė visiškai neįveikiama”.
Skaitant toliau mano nugara perbėgo šaltukas: „Paskutinėmis dienomis prieš puolimą keistas jausmas, panašus į nelaimės nuojautą, apėmė Vokietijos tankų pajėgas – jei ši tvirta, didžiulė žmonių ir mašinų sankaupa, supusi juos iš visų pusių, nenugalės rusų, tai tuomet jų niekas nenugalės”.
Mane pribloškė, kad ir autorius, ir Keisas nuotaikai prieš mūšį apibūdinti panaudojo tą patį žodį – „keistas”.
Mūšio padėtis pasidarė kritiška, todėl fiureris kreipėsi į kovotojus: „Reicho kariai! Šiandien jūs dalyvausite tokiame svarbiame puolime, nuo kurio baigties gali priklausyti visa karo ateitis. Jūsų pergalė geriau nei bet kas kita parodys pasauliui, kad priešintis Vokietijos armijos galybei — beprasmiška”.
Rusai buvo daugiau nei pasiruošę. Vokiečius jie išstūmė iš visų pozicijų. Tuo tarpu kitame Rusijos karo veiksmų lauke įtakos kovoms turėjo „kitos mintys ir principai”. Sąjungininkai pradėjo veržtis į Italiją. Daug rūpesčių patyrusi vokiečių armija turėjo atitraukti pagrindines pajėgas. Klarkas pasakojo: „Hitleris iškvietė Manšteiną ir Kliugę. Jis įsakė, kad operacija būtų nedelsiant nutraukta. Sąjungininkai išsilaipino Sicilijoje, todėl atsirado pavojus, kad Italija bus nugalėta. Kliugė sutiko, jog toliau tęsti – neįmanoma”.
Kai Keiso paklausė apie Italiją, Vokietiją ir Japoniją, jis atsakė, kad iki birželio dvidešimt penktosios bus žinoma daugiau, „daugiau nei vienos iš šių šalių atžvilgiu”. Buvo suplanuotas ir organizuotas Italijos puolimas, o nustatyta data atitiko šį laikotarpį, tačiau tikrasis įsiveržimas iš Siaurės Afrikos neprasidėjo iki pat liepos pradžios.
Ar „Citadelė” turėjo lemiamos reikšmės karo pabaigai? Vienas įžvalgiausių nacių, gestapo vadas Heinrichas Himleris manė, kad tai nulėmė viską. „Vienas nacių hierarchijos narių niekada neapsirikdavo, – rašė Klarkas. – Heinrichas Himleris suprato, kad „Citadelės” puolimo nesėkmė reiškė karo pralaimėjimą. Dabar jį jaudino klausimas, kaip sušvelninti pasekmes ir išnešti sveiką kailį.”
Keisas pranašaudavo ir apie sveikatą, jis ne tik nustatydavo diagnozę, bet ir prognozuodavo, ar žmogus pasveiks, kada ir kaip tai įvyks. Jis perspėjo savo biografą Tomą Sugrue, kad šis nuo jį varginusio artrito išsivaduos tik tuomet, jei bus kantrus, ir patarė atsisakyti gydymosi šiluma fizioterapijos kabinete, nuo kurios jis galiausiai tapo visiškai bejėgis. Vėliau Keisas išpranašavo, kad biografo ligotame kūne puikiai tobulėsiąs protas: „visiškai pasyviame kūne dirbs tik protas”. Sugrue nepaisė Keiso perspėjimų. Kai 1939-ųjų birželį – po skaitymo seanso buvo praėję metai – biografas vėl atvyko į Virdžiniją Byč, jis tebebuvo visiškai bejėgis, neštuvuose gulintis kūnas. Sugrue nebejudino nei kojų, nei rankų ir negalėjo atsisėsti. Pagaliau jis nusprendė pradėti taikyti skaitymo metu rekomenduotą gydymą. Kai po dvejų metų Sugrue išvyko iš Virdžinijos Byč, jis jau galėjo pats rašomąja mašinėle rašyti savo knygas ir mokėsi vaikščioti su ramentais. Skaitymuose buvo pasakyta, kad jo rankos ir kojos visiškai pasveiks, jei jis tvirtai laikysis rekomenduojamo gydymo. Tačiau šis airis iš Konektikuto valstijos turėjo nekantrią, impulsyvią laisvą dvasią. Jis gyveno ir mirė paklusdamas audringiems savo įgeidžiams. Keisas mylėjo Sugrue kaip sūnų ir daug jam pranašavo. Vienoje įsimintinų pranašysčių jis pasakė pavadinimą – „Baltųjų rūmų varnėnas” – jo knygai, kurią biografas rašė bendradarbiaudamas su buvusiu Centrinės žvalgybos vadovu Kolonėlių Starlingu. Keisas nurodė šios knygos leidėją – „Simon and Shuster” — ir išpranašavo jai šalyje perkamiausios knygos ateitį. Taip ir buvo.
Viena Keiso nepaprastųjų pranašysčių buvo skaitymas apie sveikatą, tačiau atliktas per vėlai ir nebegalėjo padėti žmogui, kuriam jis buvo skirtas. Tai buvo 1919-ieji, tačiau gyvas Keiso galios įrodymas tebegyvena ir šiandien. Tuomet Keisas skaitė besilaukiančiai moteriai, gulinčiai mirties patale. Jis, priešingai nei gydytojai, pasakė, kad kūdikis gims gyvas, tačiau patvirtino, kad motina mirs. „Kai kreipėmės į Keisą, jau buvome praradę viltį ir dėl motinos, ir dėl kūdikio. Edgaras Keisas buvo Šeimoje, Alabamos valstijoje, o mano sesuo – Kentukyje. Jam niekas nepasakojo apie ligonės būseną”, -neseniai moters sesuo dalijosi prisiminimais.
Nepaisant to, Keisas nugrimzdo į transo būseną ir tuoj pat viską paaiškino. „Kalbame apie du gyvuosius. Per vėlu išgelbėti motiną, tačiau ji gyvens tol, kol pagimdys kūdikį. Kūdikis gyvens, ir nejauskite dėl jo jokios baimės. Motinos būklė nėštumo metu neturės įtakos šiam kūdikiui, jis gali gyventi normaliai ir laimingai.”
Prognozė prieštaravo vieningai trijų žinomų gydytojų nuomonei. „Konsultuoti buvome pakvietę žymiausią chirurgą pietuose, – toliau pasakojo sesuo. —Jis padėjo mūsų vietiniam chirurgui, su kuriuo atliko dvi operacijas. Tačiau buvo jau per vėlu. Trys gydytojai — dr. Hagardas, dr. Gantas Geizeris (vėliau tapęs Kentukio valstijos medikų asociacijos prezidentu) ir dr. Edas Stounas – pasakė, kad šis kūdikis negyvens.”
Buvo liepos vidurys. Kūdikis turėjo gimti rugpjūčio mėnesį, tačiau motina akivaizdžiai nebūtų galėjusi tiek išgyventi. Nepaisant to, į neviltį puolusi šeima ėmė gydyti moterį taip, kaip patarė Keisas, ir tikėjosi kaip nors išgelbėti vaikelį. „Jis paskyrė negirdėtą, tačiau paprastą mišinį, kurio pagrindą sudarė guobos žievės užpilas, – pasakojo sesuo. – Mes nuėjome į mišką, pririnkome guobos žievės, paruošėme užpilą ir, laikydamiesi visų nurodymų, davėme seseriai.” Mirštanti moteris iš karto psijuto geriau. Po keleto dienų, liepos 18-ąją, pasigirdus vidurnakčio dūžiams, prieš laiką gimė kūdikis. „Mano sesuo mirė lengvai. Prieš tai ji spėjo duoti dukrelei vardą. Mergytė buvo tokia silpnutė ir menka, kad gydytojai patarė neduoti jai motinos pasiūlyto šeimos vardo, nes manė, jog mergaitė vis tiek neišgyvens.”
Toliau viskas klostėsi laimingai. Vaikas išsikapstė ir netrukus sulaukė pagalbos. „Išgirdusi apie mūsų nelaimę viena maloni krikščionė motina pasisiūlė prižiūrėti mergaitę kartu su savo kūdikiu. Po šešių mėnesių ją pradėjo maitinti pieno mišiniais ir netrukus mažylė svėrė tiek, kiek reikia sverti jos amžiaus kūdikiui.” Ji užaugo, ištekėjo ir pagimdė dvi dukras. Būdama keturiasdešimt vienerių, 1961 metais ji tapo A.R.E. nare. Keisas ir vėl buvo teisus.
Keisas pranašaudavo ne tik kitiems, bet ir sau. Tai atsitikdavo retai, tik užgriuvus kokiems nors sunkumams. Būdamas be skatiko ir vėlesniais savo gyvenimo metais jis retai jaudindavosi dėl pinigų. Vieno skaitymo metu buvo pasakyta, kad Viešpats visada padės, ir jis tuo tikėjo. Tačiau atslinkus negandai kiti jo šeimos nariai ne visada būdavo tokie ramūs ir tikri. Ekonominės depresijos metu, kai bankrutavo pagrindinis Keiso rėmėjas ir užsidarė mokykla bei ligoninė, Keiso šeima nebeturėjo kur gyventi. Hiujis Lynas pasiūlė atlikti skaitymo seansą.
Netgi nugrimzdęs į pasąmonę Keisas išlikdavo ramus. „Kodėl jūs nieko nedarote?” – teiravosi jis. Hiujis Lynas ėmė klausinėti patarimų.
„Kodėl neperkate namo?”
„Iš kur gausime pinigų?”
„Nusipirkite namą už ežero; pinigų bus.”
Atsibudęs ir peržiūrėjęs skaitymo užrašus, Keisas surado parduodamą namą ir jį įsigijo. Pradinį mokestį jis susitarė sumokėti po trisdešimties dienų ir šeima apsigyveno naujame name. Paskirtoji diena artėjo, tačiau sumokėti penkių šimtų dolerių įmoką nebuvo jokios galimybės. Netikėtai jie sužinojo, kad galės atsikvėpti. Vieną penktadienį paskambinęs namo pardavėjas ir pasakęs, jog sutartą dieną neatvyksiąs. Jis pažadėjęs atvykti kitą pirmadienį, apie pusiaudienį.
Pirmadienį, dešimtą valandą ryto, Keisas patikrino pašto dėžutę ir rado joje voką. Viduje buvo penkių šimtų dolerių čekis nuo ligonio, kuriam jis kartą padėjo.
Po kelerių metų juos užklupo kita krizė. Seimą nebegalėjo susimokėti paskolos mokesčio ir atrodė, kad teks prarasti namą. Ir vėl Keisas neturėjo į ką kreiptis, išskyrus Dievą. Keisas regėjo sapną, kaip dažnai būdavo ištikus asmeninėms krizėms. Sis ryškiai skyrėsi iš kitų, nes jame pasirodė Jėzus Kristus, su kuriuo Keisas bendravo visą gyvenimą. Po to visi atsidūrė lauko restoranėlyje Paryžiuje. Reikėjo apmokėti trylikos dolerių ir septyniasdešimt penkių centų sąskaitą. Keisas iškraustė visas kišenes, tačiau rado tik tris centus. „Negaliu sumokėti”, – pasakė jis nusiminęs. Hercogas ir Vali dingo.
„Nieko tokio, – pasakė Jėzus. – Čia tik trylika dolerių septyniasdešimt penki centai. Nesijaudink. Tavo rūpesčiai baigsis tą dieną, kai tuoksis šie du ką tik mus palikę žmonės.”
Birželio trečią dieną į Keiso kabinetą įėjo moteris ir padavė jam voką su antspaudu. Šį voką jai patikėjo moteris iš Paryžiaus, kuriai kažkada padėjo Keiso skaitymas. Keisas atplėšė voką. Jame jis rado 1375 dolerius – lygiai tiek, kiek buvo skolingas už namą.
Tą pačią dieną susituokė buvęs Anglijos karalius ir Vali Simpson.
