Mokslo požiūriu kokio nors reiškinio realumo įrodymas yra, pirma, jo pasikartojimas, o, antra, įvykio patvirtinimas bent kelių liudininkų parodymais. Tai liečia ir tokį fenomeną kaip vaiduokliai. Čia pirmauja Anglija ir Airija, kuriose pilna vietų, kur jie vaidenasi. Jei vertintume pranešimų apie juos patikimumą, tai, anomalių reiškinių tyrinėtojų nuomone, pirmenybę reikėtų teikti Kilaki Hauzui, esančiam Dublino priemiestyje.
1968 metais ponia Margaret O‘Brajen nutarė įkurti meno centrą, kuriame skulptoriai galėtų kurti ir demonstruoti savo darbus. Nekilnojamo turto agentai pasiūlė kelias tinkamas patalpas, tame tarpe ir Kilaki Hauzą, esantį palei Dubliną, Viklou kalno papėdėje. Tai buvo tvirtas mūrinis pastatas su mažu bokšteliu, pastatytas XVIII amžiuje. Pastatė jį Masėjų šeima. Už namo kilo status Monpeljė Hilo kalvos šlaitas, ant kalvos viršūnės išliko akmeniniai sudegusio medžiotojų namelio pamatai.
Ponia O‘Brajen girdėjo niūrių istorijų, susijusių su Kilaki Hauzu, pavyzdžiui, apie katiną, gyvenantį ten jau daugiau kaip 50 metų – gerokai daugiau, nei gyvena katės, – tačiau neteikė tam didelės reikšmės ir nusipirko patikusį pastatą. Greitai ji patyrė tikrą šoką, kai pati pamatė „didelį juodą žvėrį“, pranykusį tankiuose krūmuose, kuriais apžėlė sodas. Paskui jis nejuokais išgąsdino čia atvažiavusius dailininkus, kurie turėjo įrengti namo vidų. Štai ką papasakojo apie tą atvejį Dublino radijo reporteriui žinomas dailininkas Tomas MakAsėjus:
„Tai įvyko naktį, kai mes restauravome akmeninius interjero elementus vidinėje salėje. Durys į šokių salę buvo atvertos, o sunkias lauko duris aš ką tik užrakinau, įkišęs 15 cm ilgio užstūmą į metalinį lizdą. Tačiau du kartu su manimi dirbę žmonės greitai pasakė, kad lauko durys, matyt, kažkokiu būdu atsidarė.
Tai mus visus nustebino, kadangi žinojome, kad užstūma labai tvirta. Nusprendėme pasižiūrėti, koks čia reikalas ir įėjome į prieblandoje skendinčią šokių salę. Nuėjau į priekį ir įsitikinau, kad lauko durys išties atsilapojusios iki galo ir į namus veržiasi šaltas vėjas. Durų angos tamsoje pastebėjau kažkokią tamsią figūrą, tačiau veido neįžiūrėjau. Pamanęs, kad kažkas tiesiog išdykauja, pasakiau: „Gerai, užeik, aš tave matau“. Man atsakė žemas kimus balsas: „Tu negali manęs matyti. Palik duris atidarytas“.
Kolegos, stovėję man už nugaros, irgi girdėjo tuos žodžius, bet jiems pasirodė, kad žodžiai buvo ištarti užsienio kalba. Ta porelė nebuvo drąsuoliai, todėl leidosi bėgti. Tuo metu iš tamsos pasigirdo ilgas, neaprašomai siaubingas kriokimas. Aš supanikavęs užtrenkiau sunkias duris ir taip pat sprukau šalin. Tik pasiekęs galerijos vidurį, apsidairiau. Durys vėl buvo atviros, o priešakinėje salėje pasirodė gigantiškas juodas katinas. Jis prisiglaudė prie grindų ir nukreipė į mane savo raudonai degančių akių žvilgsnį“.
Už Kilaki Hauzo, lentomis apkaltame treileryje gyveno Velas MakGanis, buvęs Airijos šuolių su kartimi čempionas, kuris susidomėjo tapyba ir demonstravo savo darbus meno centro galerijoje. MakAsėjaus pasakojimas jo nenustebino, kadangi jis pats kelis kartus matė didžiulį juodą katiną, sėlinusį lauko keliuku.
„Aš tiesiog suakmenėjau iš baimės, kai pirmąsyk jį pamačiau. – pasakojo jis reporteriui. – Bet paskui mane paėmė smalsumas, kurį sukėlė šio žvėries milžiniškas ūgis. Katinas buvo didesnis už patį didžiausią šunį, o klaikios akys kėlė siaubą. Aš netgi ketinau jį sumedžioti šratiniu šautuvu, bet jie taip ir neprisileido manęs per šūvio atstumą“.
Po šių liudijimų pasidarė aišku, kad juodasis katinas – anaiptol ne gyva būtybė, o vaiduoklis. Po kelių mėnesių po pirmojo atvejo su tomu MakAsėjumi ir jo kolegomis, vaiduoklis ėmė rodytis kitiems dailininkams ir statybininkams, dirbusiems pastate. Paprastai tai vykdavo naktį, tačiau du žmonės matė katiną ir dieną – toje pačioje šokių salėje.
Paranormalių reiškinių specialistai atliko istorinius tyrimus, kad išsiaiškintų, kodėl ten apsigyveno vaiduoklis. Paaiškėjo, kad XVIII amžiuje grafas Rosė ir jo draugai lordas Haris Beris bei Ričardas Valėjus organizavo „Ugnies klubą“, o jo štabą įkūrė medžiotojų namelyje ant Monpeljė Hilo kalvos viršūnės. Rosė draugai ilgai viešėjo Kilaki Hauze, kur neretai pasitaikydavo nevaldomo žiaurumo scenų. Kartą jie iki mirties sumušė nepilno proto liliputą su išsigimusiu kūnu ir nenatūraliai didele galva. Be jo ten buvo nužudyti dar ne mažiau kaip trys žmonės.
Grafo Rosė širdyje juodo jumoro jausmas buvo neatsiejamai surištas su neapykanta juodiems katinams. Jis turėjo įprotį apipilti juos spiritu ir padegti, paskui su pasitenkinimu stebėdavo, kaip gyvūnas kankinasi, gailiai kniaukdamas lekia žemyn kalvos šlaitu, keldamas siaubą vietiniams gyventojams. Kartą, atlaikęs juodąsias mišias, grafas pasodino didelį juodą katiną į krėslą vietoje Šėtono ir ėmė tarti magiškus užkeikimus vildamasis, kad tasai įgaus žmogaus pavidalą. Iš to nieko neišėjo.
Vėliau, jau XX amžiaus pradžioje, pastate vėl prasidėjo kruvinos dramos. Kilaki Hauzas perėjo grafienės Konstancijos Markijevič, pramintos „kruvinąja grafiene“, žinion. 1916 metais ji dalyvavo sukilime, kurį organizavo Airijos respublikinė armija ir penki smogikai žuvo medžiotojų namelyje, kai bandant juos suimti, prasidėjo susišaudymas. Žodžiu, ši vieta matė daugiau žiaurumo, mirčių ir žvėriškumo nei, turbūt, bet kuri kita Airijos vietovė.
Pranešimai apie vaiduoklius Kilaki Hauze, pasirodė spaudoje ir TV, paskatino grupę šou biznio atstovų kreiptis į ponią O‘Brajen su prašymu leisti jiems filmuoti meno centre. Prieštaravimų nebuvo, ir jie pasikvietė kaip ekspertą žymų iliuzionistą, kuris buvo įsitikinęs, kad sugebės demaskuoti bet kokią apgaulę.
Jam atvažiavus ten ėmė dėtis keisti dalykai. Viskas prasidėjo nuo naktinio bildesio. Dažnai mirksėjo lemputės, paskui užgesdavo. O po dviejų dienų įvykiai įgavo grėsmingą pavidalą. Visą naktį priešakinėje ir vidinėse salėse skambėjo varpeliai, kurių pastate nebuvo jau daugybę metų. Nuolatiniai namo gyventojai, o jų buvo penki ar šeši, negalėjo užmigti net „tyliomis“ naktimis. Pasiekę lovas po sunkios darbo dienos jie valandų valandas vartėsi ir trumpam numigdavo tik prieš pat aušrą.
Po 4 dienų name neliko nė vieno žmogaus, kuris nebūtų girdėjęs prasidėjusio naktinio bildesio. O ryte žmonės su nuostaba pastebėdavo baldų nuolaužas užrakintuose kambariuose. Vienas viduramžių laikų ąžuolinis krėslas buvo rūpestingai išardytas į sudėtines dalis. Net varinės vinys, pritvirtinusios apmušalus, buvo ištrauktos ir sudėtos šalia. O kitas toks pats krėslas buvo sudaužytas į šipulius. Paskui vaiduokliai ėmėsi galerijoje išstatytų kūrinių. Per naktį jie išmėtė skulptūras po visą salę, kai kurias sudaužė ar smarkiai sugadino, o ant aliejumi tapytų paveikslų pasirodė ilgos plonos linijos. Margaretė O‘Brajen skubiai iškvietė šventiką. Gavęs savo vadovybės leidimą, jis atliko apvalymo ritualą. Po šito barbariški vaiduoklių veiksmai liovėsi, tačiau prasidėjo dar keistesni reiškiniai.
Ponia O‘Brajen dar nebaigė įrengti pastato, todėl jame nebuvo šaldytuvo. Jos prašymu pienininkas palikdavo pieno butelius šaltame upelyje, tekėjusiame per sklypą. Po apvalymo ritualo ponia pastebėjo, kad kažkas nusukdavo butelių dangtelius, tačiau pienas nebuvo liečiamas. Kadangi šalia nebuvo jokių pėdsakų, ji nutarė, kad tai daro šarkos, kurias viliojo metalo blizgesys. Margaretė sudėliojo upelyje kvadratą iš plytų, kurio viduje buvo dedamas pienas, o iš viršaus buvo uždengiama pakankamai sunkiu šiferio gabalu. Tačiau dangteliai nuo butelių ir toliau išnykdavo, o paskui atsirasdavo pačiame pastate, bet jau deformuoti.
Tada ponia O‘Brajen, prieš guldamasi miegoti, ėmė rakinti visas duris. Nežiūrint į tai, dangtelių antplūdis tęsėsi. Jų rasdavo visur, net ant aukštų durų staktų. Be dangtelių, prasidėjo dar ir šukų bei papuošalų judėjimas. Per naktį lovos, kuriose miegojo žmonės, būdavo berte jomis apiberiamos: jų buvo ir po paklodėmis, ir užvalkaluose, visur.
Žodžiu, vaiduokliai toliau demonstravo savo buvimą. Dažniausi jų „juokeliai“ reiškėsi antgamtiniu daiktų, atsirandančių iš niekur, materializavimu. Paskui papuošalus pasipylė popierinės gėlės, knygų įdėklai ir net žiedai servetėlėms. Be to, naktimis namo gyventojai matė salėse ir koridoriuose negirdimai vaikštinėjantį didžiulį katiną. Nespėjo jie prie jo priprasti, kai atsirado dar vienas vaiduoklis, šįkart žmogiško pavidalo. Kartą koridoriuje šeimininkė susidūrė su juo, kaip sakoma, veidas į veidą, ir jis jai pasirodė panašus į išsigimusį kuprių.
1970 metų pabaigoje žaidimai su materializacija pagaliau baigėsi, nors skambučių trelės kaip ir anksčiau žadindavo gyventojus vidury nakties. Dar po kelių mėnesių paaiškėjo, kad keisti įvykiai turi realią ir pakankamai grėsmingą priežastį. Rekonstruojant virtuvę, ėmė kasti tranšėją naujam vandentiekiui ir 2 metrų gilumoje aptiko kapavietę, kurioje buvo liliputo su nenatūraliai didele kaukole skeletas. Taip pasitvirtino legenda apie grafo Rosė padarytą žmogžudystę. Be to, kape rado figūrėlę, vaizduojančią raguotą ir uodeguotą velnią.
Liliputo griaučius palaidojo pagal visus bažnytinius ritualus. Po to vaiduoklių „išdykavimai“ lyg ir baigėsi. Tačiau Kilaki Hauzo šeimininkė vis tiek jautėsi nejaukiai ir po 6 metų pardavė pastatą. Namą pirkęs Džozefas Frėjus ne tik išsaugojo jame meno centrą, bet ir pristatė restoraną. „Jaučiu jame tik dvasinę šilumą ir komfortą. Mano šeima čia visiškai laiminga“. – sako naujasis šeimininkas. Čia galima būtų padėti tašką, jei ne vienas „bet“, kurį reikėtų papildomi panagrinėti. Nespecialistui įvykiai tame pastate tėra dar vienas seniai visiems žinomo vaiduoklių egzistavimo fakto patvirtinimas. Tačiau įvykiai unikalūs tuo, kad tuo pačiu metu ten vyko du anomalūs fenomenai – vaiduoklis ir poltergeistas.
Vaiduokliai seniai ir gerai išnagrinėti tyrinėtojų, o jų egzistavimą patvirtina bešališki prietaisai. Jie nuolat egzistuoja subtiliajame pasaulyje, o kai pakliūna į mūsų realybę, žmonės gali fiksuoti juos akustiniame arba vizualiame elektromagnetinio spektro diapazone. Kilaki Hauzo gyventojau ne kartą matė ir juodą katiną, ir kuprių. Kartą Tomas MakAsėjus girdėjo žodžius ir kriokimą. Šiuo atveju jo „pašnekovas“ buvo vaiduoklis, kadangi poltergeistas skleisti garsų, iš visa ko sprendžiant, nesugeba, nors puikiausiai gali rašyti. O štai varpeliais skambinti vaiduokliai nelabai sugeba, čia tikrai poltergeisto darbas.
Tačiau, būdami bekūniai, vaiduokliai, kaip taisyklė, nekontaktuoja su materialiais objektais mūsų pasaulyje, t.y. nejudina jų ir nenaikina. O poltergeistai, priešingai, niekad nebūna matomi. Girdimi – taip, ir dažnai netgi labai triukšmingai, apie ką kalba jau pats jo pavadinimas „triukšminga dvasia“. Kai dėl poveikio materialiems objektams, tai čia jie išdarinėja viską, kas tik įmanoma, kartais ir tokius dalykėlius, kurie prieštarauja mums žinomiems fizikos dėsniams.
Tai, kas dėjosi Kilaki Hauze, kaip tik ir priskiriama tokiems dalykams. Tik poltergeistas galėjo ardyti ir laužyti krėslus, vartyti skulptūras, maigyti kamštelius ir mėtyti daiktus. Tačiau iki šiol dar nebuvo pastebėta, kad vaiduoklis veiktų kartu su poltergeistu. Kodėl ir kokiu tikslu susivienijo ano pasaulio būtybės, lieka paslaptimi.
