Kaip sakė E. Keisis, akašos įrašuose yra užfiksuota neaprėpiama galybė informacijos apie praeitį. Ar tai būtų ankstesnieji konkretaus individo gyvenimai, ar kitomis priemonėmis neužrašyta kokios nors senovinės civilizacijos istorija, visos tokio pobūdžio žinios yra sukauptos ir jomis gali pasinaudoti visi, kurie sugeba prieiti prie šios duomenų sistemos. Paties Keisio gebėjimai skaityti akašos įrašus buvo beribiai. Jis gaudavo ir smulkią informaciją apie dabartinę kiekvienos individualios sielos viešnagės vietą, ir galėdavo ilgai skaityti apie senąją istoriją bei prieš daugel amžių pamirštas civilizacijas. Keisis buvo tikras meistras, kai reikėdavo gauti informaciją iš įrašų -jis sugebėdavo atsakyti į kiekvieną užklausą.
Prieš pradėdamas individui skaityti apie jo praeitį, E. Keisis dažnai sutelkdavo dėmesį į kokį nors specifinį dabartinio jo gyvenimo įvykį. Tai galėdavo būti seniai pamirštas incidentas arba taip pat pamirštas koks nors skausmingas nutikimas vaikystėje. O kartais jis imdavo aptarinėti vieną ar kitą dabartinio gyvenimo įvykį, turėjusį įtakos individo dabarčiai. Skaitydamas apie ankstesniuosius individo gyvenimus (vadinamieji gyvenimo skaitymai), E. Keisis pradėdavo nuo dabarties ir minėdamas svarbias šio gyvenimo datas grįždavo į praeitį, į tiriamo individo gimimo dieną. Pavyzdžiui, 1937 metais jis atliko skaitymus vienai 1883 metais gimusiai moteriai ir perskaitė taip:
[Edgaras Keisis, grįždamas atgal į praeitį nuo tos dienos, kai buvo pradėtas šis skaitymas, kalbėjo:] 1931 metai – koks interesų išsisklaidymas! 30-ieji, 29-ieji – 18-ieji – koks nerimas! 17-ieji – 1898-ieji – taip, ir vėl pasikeitė aplinka; 88-ieji – 83-ieji – kokie laimingi [tėvai], kad turi šią esybę!
Štai čia mes turime jrašą esybės, kuri dabar vadinama, arba yra žinoma kaip, [1479].

Keisis, kai perskaitydavo informaciją apie tam tikrą individą, visada aptardavo „astrologines įtakas”, vienaip ar kitaip nulėmusias to individo būtį. Tai unikalus požiūris: Keisis stengdavosi nustatyti, kaip astrologiniai veiksniai susiję su siela. Jo skaitymai perša išvadą, kad planetų išsidėstymas danguje virš mūsų gimimo vietos ir mūsų gimimo metu mūsų likimo nevaldo, – veikiau galima sakyti taip: mes gimstame planetų apsuptoje Žemėje, o mūsų gimimo laikas ir vieta materialiai išreiškia tai, kas mes esame sielos lygmenyje. Kitais žodžiais kalbant, Keisis tvirtino, kad gimstant kūdikiui „visata yra ramybės būsenos” (3003 – 1), o vėliau ateina laikas, kai planetos judė-damos sukuria unikalų fizinį ir astrologinį mūsų sielos atitikmenį, tiksliau, jų išsidėstymas tik atskleidžia mūsų sielos prigimtį, o ne ją lemia. Dėl šios priežasties Keisis buvo įsitikinęs, kad tiriant astrologinę medžiagą galima gana tiksliai nustatyti individo polinkius, galimybes ir būsimuosius sunkumus, – visa tai, su kuo jis ar ji čia atėjo. Beje, tam tikra dalis šios informacijos yra ir pačiuose įrašuose. Antra vertus, kadangi didžiausią įtaką individo gyvenimui daro jo paties laisva valia, tai remtis astrologine medžiagą bandant nustatyti, koks bus to individo gyvenimo kelias, nėra labai paprasta. Skaitymų žodžiais tariant:
[...] joks planetų judėjimas nei Mėnulio ar Saulės, ar kito dangaus kūno fazė nepranoks individualios žmogaus valios jėgos taisyklės – tos jėgos, kuri žmogui yra duota Kūrėjo pačioje pradžioje, kai jis tapo gyvąja siela turėdamas galią pats rinktis.

Akašos įrašuose E. Keisis įskaitė dar vieną įdomią koncepciją: tarpuose tarp žemiškųjų fizinių gyvenimų „siela pavieši planetinėje sąmonėje”. Tos viešnagės suteikia sielai galimybę mokytis tam tikrų dalykų, pavyzdžiui, besąlyginės meilės, o paskui siela vėl grįžta į Žemę ir jos supratimas jau platesnis, negu kad buvo prieš jai iškeliaujant. Tai nereiškia, kad individai tarp gyvenimų išties keliauja į kitas Saulės sistemos planetas, įrašai duoda mintį, kad kiekviena planeta tėra tik fizinis kokios nors sąmonės būsenos atspindys.
Atlikdamas žmonėms gyvenimo skaitymus, Keisis jiems taip pat pranešdavo, kad planetinė sąmonė veikėjuos dar prieš šią jų žemiškąją inkarnaciją ir vienaip ar kitaip formavo jų vidines charakteristikas. Įrašuose nurodyta, kad viešnagės planetinėje sąmonėje daro stiprią ir pasąmoningą įtaką individo asmenybei, charakteriui, jo polinkiams, troškimams, įpročiams, netgi pomėgiams.
Pavyzdžiui, vienam 46 metų vyrui, prašiusiam gyvenimo skaitymų, E. Keisis perskaitė akašos įrašus, o paskui aptarė su juo „latentinius ir pasireiškusius” stimulus, kilusius dėl viešnagės planetinėje sąmonėje ir dėl astrologinės įtakos. Prieš Keisiui pradedant skaityti įrašus, jam pranešė, kad tas žmogus buvo gimęs 1893 metų birželio 29 dieną tačiau ši informacija, pasirodo, buvusi klaidinga, ir tą klaidą Keisis greitai pastebėjo. Štai šio skaitymo dalis:
[Edgaras Keisis, grjždamas atgal į praeitį nuo tos dienos, kai buvo pradėtas šis skaitymas, kalbėjo:] 1937-ieji – aktyvumo periodai, nebuvę labai geri; 31-ieji-trukdančios jėgos, tačiau geri pasiryžimai, kurie žlugo; 21-ieji – laukimas, viltys ir taip toliau…. Veikiau 28-oji diena, o ne 29-oji, kaip kad mes dabar matome; nors diena ėjo j pabaigą, data netrukus pasikeitė, vis dėlto dar buvo 28-oji.
Štai čia mes turime jrašą esybės, kuri dabar vadinama, arba yra žinoma kaip, [2172].
Interpretuodami turimus įrašus, mes trokštame ir siekiame, kad jie suteiktų esybei naudingų potyrių.
Atsiskleidžiant jos dorybėms ir ydoms, esybė turi suprasti, kad jos gimimas žemėje ir čia išgyventi potyriai turi tikslą, kad tai nėra atsitiktinumas, o greičiau dalykas, jvykęs iš begalinės Kuriančiųjų Jėgų, arba Dievo, malonės; tad te esybė turi vilt], te jos nepraranda, tenebando pabėgti nuo savęs slopindama tą sąmonę ir baimę, kurios kartais reiškiasi esybės potyriuose.
Nes pataikavimas savo silpnybėms ar net bėgimas nuo savęs neduoda nieko, tik sukuria ir sukelia potyrius, kuriuos kartais esti sunku išgyventi, ir tada individas nuleidžia rankas, nusivilia savo pastangomis, taip pat dažnai jis būna pasiruošęs smerkti kitus dėl neramybės ir trukdžių, kurie gali kilti jo gyvenime.
Žinok, kad esama tikslo, kelio, būdo, kaip siela gali įvykdyti tai, ką jvykdyti šiame gyvenime jai skyrė Kuriančioji Jėga, arba Dievas.
Interpretuodami jrašus, kurie atsirado laiko ir erdvės rezginyje dėl sąmoningos esybės veiklos [...], mes nustatėme, kad viešnagės planetose tarpuose tarp žemiškųjų, arba materialiųjų, pasireiškimų prisidėjo atsirandant aiškioms ir latentinėms paskatoms, kurias dabar patiria ši esybė kaip ir visos kitos esybės.
Tiesa, kad astrologinės sferos siuntė ir tebesiunčia esybei stimulus, kurių poveikis yra pastebimas. Tačiau žinok, jog jokia paskata, joks stimulas, joks ženklas, joks jausmas (ar latentinės mentalinės prigimties, ar materialios emocinės, besireiškiantis kūne) nepranoks prigimtos VALIOS – to faktoriaus, kuris daro žmogaus sielą kitokią, nei kad yra kitų Dievo sukurtų gyvybių sielos!
Nes jis, žmogus, yra sukurtas taip, kad būtų tik nedaug žemiau, nei kad yra angelai, ir jam duotos visos galimybės TAPTI SU JAIS VIENA! Nei jų visumos dalimi ir nei ištirpti jų visumoje, o vis asmeniškėti tos visumos sąmonėje išnaudojant Kuriančiosios Jėgos duotą individualumą; kitaip sakant, vis labiau artėti prie Jo ir drauge sąmoningai likti savimi.
Kalbant apie astrologines viešnages, reikia pasakyti, kad mūsų potyrius itin veikia šios planetos:
Jupiteris: jo jtaka teigiama, jis nurodo, kad esybė veikia tarp savo artimųjų, tačiau LIEKA INDIVIDUALI, vis dėlto savo tarpusavio santykiais paveikdama mases, arba grupes.
Todėl esybei esant materialioje erdvėje, jos veikla visų pirma reiškiasi emociškai, o ne daiktiškai; nors taip pat gali būti, kad esybė didžiai pasireikš ir PER daiktus, tarkime, juos pardavinėdama [...]
Merkurijus: jo jtaka pastebėta elgsenos bruožuose arba charakteryje, arba galvosenoje. Tačiau esybė nesugeba daryti sprendimų [...]
Pakilk, jgauk galią „galvoti tiesiai ir tinkamai” apie daiktus, apie veiklą, apie sąlygas; ne spekuliatyviai, nes, nors buvo periodų, kai reikalai klostėsi iš pažiūros neblogai net šios viešnagės metu, dabar jie neatrodo tokie palankūs, o tu esi čia tam, kad pažintum save [...]
Neptūnas: ši viešnagė, kaip mes matome, paveikė mistinės prigimties dalykus. Štai kodėl esybė linkusi būti spekuliatyvi arba mąsto taip, kaip nėra visada labai išmintinga.
JEIGU esybės aktyvumas pasireiškia bendraujant su žmonėmis ar turint reikalą su daiktais [...], esybei bus kur kas lengviau, jei ji kuo dažniau jstengs pergalėti spekuliatyvius polinkius.
Žiūrėdami j astrologines viešnages, mes matome, kad čia, ŽINOMA, esama ir gerų, ir blogų jtakų; tačiau jų veikimo rezultatas priklausys nuo santykių su daiktais, individais, tikslais ir dvasinėmis prasmėmis.

Kai Keisis perskaitydavo akašos {rašus ir išaiškindavo, kaip konkretų individą veikia planetos, jis prabildavo apie tai, kokia yra praėjusių gyvenimų įtaka šiam individo gyvenimui.
Dažnai būdavo taip, kad žmonės, kai Keisis imdavo aptarinėti ankstesniąsias jų inkarnacijas, stengdavosi rasti ryšį tarp savęs ir kokio nors žinomo istorinio personažo. Kartais jie net būdavo įsitikinę, kad šiame gyvenime tas ar kitas praeities personažas – tai jie. Reinkarnacijos teorijų kritikai mėgsta juokauti, esą kiekvienas kada nors yra buvęs Kleopatra, Cezariu, kuriuo nors apaštalu arba kokiu nors karaliumi, o gal karaliene. O kur visi vergai, baudžiauninkai, visi kiti paprasti žmonės?
Edgaro Keisio skaitymu bylose užrašyta daugiau kaip dešimt tūkstančių praeityje gyvenusių žmonių vardų. Iš jų tik mažiau kaip du šimtai gali būti pavadinti „garsiais”. Štai Aarono Būro* ir Anos Bolein* vardai įtraukti į skaitymų bylą, kuri pavadinta „Garsios asmenybės”, ten pat rasime ir personažus, pavadintus „Sokrato duktė” ir „Semo Hiustono* giminaitis”. Žinoma, daugelis žmonių, kuriems E. Keisis skaitė įrašus, praeityje anaiptol nebuvo jokios garsenybės.

Vienas bendras „garsių asmenybių” sindromo aspektas yra tas, kad žmonės orientuojasi į tam tikrą elgseną ir potyrius, būdingus tai asmenybei, o ne į realų praėjusių gyvenimų identitetą. Kitaip sakant, individai tapatinasi su istorinėmis garsenybėmis ne todėl, kad jie praėjusiame gyvenime buvo ta garsenybė, o dėl tos priežasties, kad dabar jiems patinka vienas ar kitas konkrečios praeityje gyvenusios garsios asmenybės bruožas. Taip pat gali būti, kad šiandien žmonės jaučiasi buvę garsenybėmis todėl, kad praeityje su jomis artimai bendravo. Pavyzdžiui, vienas 47 metų vyras, kuriam E. Keisis skaitė įrašus (1151 – 4), nė kiek neabejojo, jog viename iš praėjusių gyvenimų jis buvo JAV prezidentas Džeimsas A. Garfildas (James A. Garfield). Tą faktą netgi buvo patvirtinęs kitas aiškiaregys. Tačiau E. Keisis nustatė, kad tas vyras iš tikrųjų buvo tik artimas prezidento Garfddo bendražygis, o ne pats prezidentas.
Kitą kartą į E. Keisį kreipėsi 32 metų moteris ir paprašė nustatyti, ar vienas jos pažįstamas žmogus praėjusiame gyvenime nėra buvęs labai garsus ir žinomas. Keisio atsakymas dar sykį patvirtino, kad iš esmės svarbi yra kiekviena siela – ne vien į istorijos metraščius įrašytos asmenybės:
Klausimas: Ar jis buvo svarbi arba gerai žinoma esybė anoje inkarnacijoje?
Atsakymas: 0 kuri esybė NĖRA svarbi! Kuri esybė po visa ko, pačioje pabaigoje, NETAMPA gerai žinoma! 0 dėl svarbumo dabartyje štai kas – tai tik todėl, kad gali būti mokytojas ir pagalbininkas visų tų, kurie ieško kelio.

Keisio supratimu, kiekvienas individas visų pirma yra integrali visumos dalis. Ir pirmučiausias kiekvieno gyvenimo tikslas yra išgyventi tuos potyrius, kurie padeda sielai priartėti prie savo dieviškųjų ištakų. Ar žmogus pasiekia trokštamą idealą, priklauso nuo jo laisvos valios, nuo gyvenant padarytų pasirinkimų, tačiau galimybę tobulėti siela turi kiekviename gyvenime.
Skaitydamas akašos Įrašus, Keisis visada stengdavosi išsiaiškinti, kaip žmogaus praeitis veikia jo dabartį. Pavyzdžiui, 1935 metais į Keisį kreipėsi vienas iš Rusijos emigravęs vidutinio amžiaus vyras ir paprašė atlikti jam gyvenimo skaitymus (619 – 5). Jis dėl tam tikrų priežasčių abejojo, koks yra tikslus jo amžiaus (sakė, kad „apie 48″) ir kokia tiksli gimimo data. Keisis kreipėsi į įrašus ir, kaip jam įprasta, suteikė tam žmogui informaciją apie jo gimimą: J 985 metų kovo 19 diena. Tokiu būdu jis tapo dviem metais vyresnis, negu pats tarėsi esąs. O kitą kartą (tai vienas iš garsiausių ankstyvųjų Keiso skaitymų) jis, remdamasis akašos Įrašais, tiksliai nustatė šešiametės mergaitės (2473 – 1) negalios priežastį: ją kamuojančio psichikos sutrikimo ir fizinių konvulsijų priežastis buvo antraisiais gyvenimo metais persirgta viena vaikiška liga.
E. Keisis akašos Įrašus skaitė keturiasdešimt trejus metus ir per tą laiką įsitikino, kad ten sukaupta informacija yra beribė. Antra vertus, galimumą pasinaudoti šia informacija dažnai riboja specifinės aplinkybės. Visų pirma kiekvienas atskiras individas interpretuodamas Įrašus niuansuoja juos savo tikėjimu, įsitikinimais, tikslais ir ketinimais. Taip pat Keisis tvirtino, kad informaciją apie individo sielos praeitį lengviau gauna tas aiškiaregys, kuris buvo inkarnavęs šiame pasaulyje vienu metu su tiriamu individu. Viename 1934 metais atliktame skaityme jis šį principą aiškina taip:
Tada informaciją gaunantis kūnas nusistato, pajungdamas sąmonę materijai, ir tampa kanalu, per kurį gali būti skaitomi įrašai. O įrašų interpretavimas priklauso nuo to, ar tas kūnas yra geras skaitytojas, arba nuo to, kokią patirtį jis turi sukaupęs, arba nuo pačių įrašų, kuriuos yra padariusi siela. Štai kodėl įrašas bus perskaitytas kur kas tiksliau tada, kai abi sielos [aiškiaregio ir tiriamojo] bus išgyvenusios tą pačią patirtį.
Tačiau kiekviena siela, kaip ir ši (416), yra palikusi apibrėžtą įrašą taip aiškiai, tarsi jis būtų darytas su rašalu ir plunksna ar su kokia kita informacijos fiksavimo ar perdavimo priemone.

Tikslią informaciją iš akašos Įrašų sudėtinga gauti dar todėl, kad, kaip tvirtino E. Keisis, „kartais būna labai sunku mintį atskirti nuo veiksmo” (1562 – 1). Apibendrintai ši idėja išreikšta Naujajame Testamente. Jėzus kalbėjo: „O aš jums sakau: kiekvienas, kuris geidulingai žvelgia į moterį, jau svetimauja savo širdimi.” (Mt 5, 28) Tada kyla toks klausimas: jeigu iš akašos Įrašų gaunama informacija gali būti interpretuojama netiksliai, ar verta pasikliauti tomis žiniomis apie praeitį, kurias pateikdavo Edgaras Keisis? Atsakymas yra „taip”.
1932 metais E. Keisis skaitė Įrašus apie praėjusius gyvenimus vienam žmogui [2741 - 1]. Sapnuodamas jis patyrė regėjimą, kuriame didžiulis būrys žmonių rengėsi šventinti piramidę. Prasidėjo didinga ceremonija, visi jos dalyviai septynias dienas šoko, dainavo ir kitaip linksminosi. Keisis ten regėjo kupranugarių, o žmonės buvo apsitaisę senovės Egipto stiliaus drapanomis. Atsibudęs po šio skaitymo, jis susiejo regėtą sapną su savo praeitimi. Tolesni skaitymai (294 – 131) parodė, kad tas regėjimas buvo apie tikrą praeities įvykį, kurio liudytojas tada buvo pats Keisis. Kitaip sakant, kai individas yra sapno būsenos, jo pasąmonė prisimena visus praeities įvykius. Kad tokiu būdu galima žvilgtelėti į praėjusius gyvenimus, patvirtina Keisio žodžiai, kuriuos jis pasakė vienai 32 metų moteriai: jei koks nors sapnas nuolatos kartojasi, tai ji gali laikyti tą sapną „tikru grįžimu atgal laike ir erdvėje” (2072 – 12). Todėl, jeigu individas dažnai sapnuoja, pavyzdžiui, kolonijinio laikotarpio Ameriką, galima tvirtinti, kad jis ten tuo metu gyveno.
Štai šių dienų pavyzdys, kaip sapnuodami žmonės prisimena praeitį. Tai pasakojimas apie vyrą ir moterį, Maiklą ir Suzaną -abu vis prisimindavo vieną iš praėjusių savo gyvenimų, kuriame jie buvę vyras ir žmona. (Šiuo metu jie dirbo viename kabinete ir buvo tik „draugiškai vienas kito atžvilgiu nusiteikę bendradarbiai”.)
Maiklas labai rimtai draugavo su kita moterimi, vardu Pema. Pema buvo ištekėjusi, tačiau svarstė galimybę su vyru skirtis. Ji buvo įsitikinusi, kad pagaliau sutiko „tikrą sielos draugą” – tai yra Maiklą, dėl kurio ir norėjo palikti savo vyrą. Kai Pema dar galvojo, kaip jai geriau pasielgti, Maiklas susapnavo tokį sapną:
Kalbuosi su Pema apie jos sprendimą skirtis su vyru. Sakau jai, kad visi mes turime daugiau nei vieną „sielos draugą” – tai yra sielą, su kuria kitados esame buvę kartu. Sulig tais žodžiais atsisuku, rodau į Suzaną, kuri taip pat buvo tame pačiame kambaryje, ir sakau: „Matai, Pema, praėjusiame gyvenime aš buvau ją vedęs, o dabar mes esame tik draugai. Ir būtų negerai man dabar su ja pabėgti.”
Šį sapną Maiklas susapnavo naktį iš penktadienio į šeštadienį. Jis nusprendė perpasakoti jį Suzanai, kai pirmadienį ateis į darbą. Tą patį savaitgalį Suzana su vyru buvo išvykusi pasivažinėti po kalnus ir patyrė neįprastą regėjimą. Apie savo potyrius ji pasakoja štai ką:
Mano vyras Timas vairavo, o aš grožėjausi nuostabiu kraštovaizdžiu. Staiga atkreipiau dėmesį į neįtikėtinai spalvingą saulėlydį. Kai žiūrėjau į besileidžiančią saulę, pasijutau tarsi kas būtų perkėlęs mane į kitą erdvę ir į kitą laiką. Kažin kodėl man pasirodė, kad aš atsidūriau Austrijoje. (O tuo metu mes automobiliu važiavome Virdžinijos kalnais.) Ir tada galvon man šovė mintis, kad reikia visa tai įsiminti ir grįžus namo perpasakoti savo vyrui. (Man tą akimirką atrodė, kad jis yra Maiklas!)
Pirmadienį iš ryto atėję į darbą Maiklas ir Suzana šiuos praėjusių gyvenimų potyrius papasakojo vienas kitam.
Kaip tvirtino E. Keisis, egzistuoja labai stiprus ryšys tarp vaizduotės ir intuicijos. Faktiškai kiekvienas žmogus, kuris turi lakią vaizduotę, taip pat pasižymi ir gera intuicija. Štai kartais žmogų tarsi iš niekur aplanko kokia nors neįprasta mintis ar idėja, galbūt jis tada netgi taria „Tai tik mano vaizduotė”, nors iš tikrųjų tas tikslus psichinis įspaudas atėjo iš akašos įrašų. Pavyzdžiui, 1944 metais E. Keisis skaitė įrašus apie praėjusius gyvenimus penkiasdešimties metų moteriai ir paminėjo, kad vieną iš jų ji nugyveno Ohajo valstijoje. (Beje, ten pat ji gyveno ir dabar.) Vėliau ta moteris aprašė tokį savo vaikystės laikų įvykį:
[...] Manyčiau, kad turiu jums papasakoti apie vieną jvy-kj, kurj patyriau būdama maždaug dvylikos ar keturiolikos metų. Mes tada gyvenome plytiniame name kaime ir turėjome ūkj, kurj tėvas buvo paveldėjęs kaip vyriausias sūnus. Ūkis ir namas buvo paveldimi jau ketvirtos kartos palikuonių. Tėvas dažnai išvažiuodavo pasižvalgyti po apylinkes, ir man tada patikdavo jj lydėti. Tą kartą tėvas pasikinkė vežimą ir mes drauge susirengėme j vietovę keliolika mylių nuo mūsų ūkio, kur vienas fermeris prekiavo labai išgirtomis, tėvo žodžiais, kviečių sėklomis.
Buvo nuostabi diena, mes važiavome mielomis vietomis, gerai pažįstamas kelias vingiavo Maskingemo upės pakrantėmis. Paskui mes persikėlėme į kitą krantą ir atsidūrėme kelyje Stovertaunas – Kanelvilis, kuris driekėsi per kalvotą vietovę, per medžiais apaugusius tiltelius, jungiančius mažų upelių krantus. Staiga tėvas pasuko kinkinj į kairę, į vos matomą užžėlusį miško keliuką, mes pavažiavome kiek, kirtome geležinkelį ir netikėtai iš miško blausumos atsidūrėme nuostabioje žalioje žemoje pievoje – ji plytėjo priešais mus, tolėliau kilo kalvos šlaitu į viršų ir atsirėmė į baltą tvorą, už kurios miškingos kalvos fone stovėjo baltas kaimiško stiliaus namas. „Ak, – aš tada riktelėjau nustebusi ir sužavėta, – ak, tėveli, aš pažįstu šį namą, juk esu buvusi čia daugybę kartų!” – „Ne, – atsakė man tėvas, – tu niekada iki šiol nebuvai važiavusi šiuo keliu.” – „Ak, tėveli, juk aš čia tikrai lankiausi”, – mėginau nenusileisti, tačiau tėvas buvo rūstus škotas, ir mes, jo vaikai, žinojome, kad su juo verčiau nesiginčyti. „Gana! – griežtai, kaip jam buvo įprasta, tarė tėvas. – Tu niekada anksčiau nevažiavai šiuo keliu, tik dabar, su manimi.” Ir viskas, pokalbis baigėsi, nes tėvo ši tema nedomino. Tačiau metams bėgant mano atmintyje tos vietos vaizdas neišblėso – baltas kaimiško stiliaus namas vis stovi man prieš akis netgi dabar, šią akimirką. Tikrovėje aš jo nebeišvydau, tačiau man rodosi, kad jei tik galėčiau praverti jo duris, aš atsidurčiau gimtuosiuose namuose. Neabejoju, kad galėčiau ten nukeliauti. Manau, net įstengčiau nubraižyti planą, kaip ten patekti [...]

Fizinį šeimos narių panašumą galima paaiškinti paveldimumu, o reinkarnacijos teorija paaiškina šeimos narių bei artimų žmonių santykių raidą. Visi mes linkę į vieną ar kitą veiklą, mėgstame tam tikras vietas, mus traukia konkretūs žmonės. Kaip jau minėjome, žmonės šiame gyvenime santykius atnaujina tame jų etape, kuriame jie aname gyvenime buvo nutraukti. Štai tą dalyką iliustruojantis pasakojimas.
Gregas ir Džimas buvo geriausi draugai, be to, jie dirbo tą patį darbą: abu buvo statybos inžinieriai. Jie artimai susidraugavo tą pačią dieną, kai susitiko. Džimas dažnai sakydavo, kad Gregas jam yra tarsi tikras brolis. Kai baigdavo darbą, jiedu drauge praleisdavo vakarą ir atsipalaiduodavo susiradę kokią nors pramogą. Kartą, kai jie važiavo į darbą (Gregas vairavo, o Džimas sėdėjo šalia), Džimas patyrė keistą dalyką. Štai ką apie tai kalba jis pats:
Gregas vairavo, o aš kažką jam kalbėjau, tik staiga man apsiblausė akyse ir aš pastebėjau, kad mano bičiulio išvaizda pasikeitė. Pasirodė, kad jis turi užsimaukšlinęs kaubojišką skrybėlę, po kaklu pasiršęs skarelę ir apsimovęs batus ilgais aulais. Iš karto tapo aišku, kad Gregas yra mano brolis, aš taip pat susivokiau, kad mudu dabar keliaujame į Kaliforniją ieškoti aukso. Taip pat aš žinojau, kad mudu daug laiko praleidžiame eidami iš vienos smuklės į kitą ir nuolatos kalbame apie auksą, tačiau dar jo nesame radę. „Kas, po galais, čia vyksta!” – tariau sau, ir visi tie vaizdiniai išnyko, aš vėl sėdėjau automobilyje šalia Grego.
Panašų dalyką buvo patyręs ir pats Keisis. 1926 metais jis skaitė įrašus vienam berniukui ir nustatė, kad šis anksčiau yra buvęs Tomas Keisis – jo brolis, miręs, kai jam, Edgarui Kei-siui, buvo penkiolika metų (318 – 2). Nors berniukui ši žinia nebuvo pranešta, vėliau jis prisiminė buvusį brolišką ryšį su Edgaru. Tai įvyko po dvejų metų, kai jiedu vėl susitiko. Pats Keisis taip prisimena šį įvykį:
Berniukas stovėjo kiek atokiau ir įdėmiai tyrinėjo mane akimis. Paskui staiga jis puolė prie manęs švytinčiu veideliu ir tarė „broli” [...] Jis iš karto ėmė maldauti, kad aš jį vesčiausi į savo namus, dar pasakė, kad jis priklauso man, o ne kam kitam. Turėjau palaukti, kol jis užmigs, tik tada išėjau [...] Vėl pamačiau jį tada, kai jam suėjo dešimt metų. Veiksmas vėl vyko jo namuose. Kai aš susiruošiau išeiti, jis netardamas nė žodžio susikrovė daiktus ir ėmė gretintis prie manęs. Pabandžiau jam paaiškinti, kad jis šiuose namuose yra labai reikalingas, kad čia jis turi baigti mokyklą. Jis nuolankiai pakluso. Nepaprasta istorija [...], kiekvienas jos žodis yra tikra tiesa, taigi tepadeda man DIEVAS! O ką kalbėtumėte jūs, jei patirtumėte panašų dalyką?
